The special competitions are a lot
of fun and the prize money is worth-
while. A different activity will take
place every morning, afternoon and
evening on the Second Floor, West
Annex of the Coliseum—thus it is im-
portant to note the hour of the com-
petitions you decide to enjoy—and win
if possible.

ming; Dorothy Dix; and Traffic Safe-
ty. You are judged on accuracy, clev-
erness and speed—or shall we say, ac-
cording to the emphasized rules in the
Prize List,
You may be most interested in the
Christening Cake. It's a wonderful
idea.
TAKE A TIP
1, Cake may be made from any recipe,
butter cake, fruit cake or spice
cake.
2. Batter must be baked in two 9-inch
pans.
3. The cake must be filled ,frosted
and decorated to celebrate a Christ-
ening.
4. The exhibits must be sent in on
heavy cardboards (no plates.)
5. Cakes must be delivered to the
Big Tent at the south door of the
Women's Building before 11 a.m.,
Wednesday, September 5th.
1 cup sugar
5 tbsps. flour
1 egg, beaten
113 cup lemon juice
23 cup water
2 tsps. butter
1 tsp. raspberry flavoring
14 cup whipped cream
Combine sugar and flour in top of
double boiler. Mix beaten egg, lemon
juice, water and butter and add to
dry ingredients. Place over hot water,
cook, stirring constantly for 10 min-
utes. Chill. Fold in flavoring and
whipped cream,
Creamy aFrosting
1,e_• cups sugar
tsp. corn syrup
23 cup boiling water
2 egg whites
1 tsp. almond extract
Combine granulated sugar, light
corn syrup and water, bring quickly
to a boil, stirring only until sugar is
dissolved. Boil rapidly, until a small
amount of syrup forms a soft ball
in cold water (236 degrees.) Pour in
fine stream over the beaten egg whit-
es, beating constantly. Add flavoring
and continue beating until frosting is
cool.

Ontario's Women's Institute frOna all
parts of Ontario yisited the Ontario
Agricultural College during the week
of July 9-13 to participate in the an-
ual holiday of the Institute.
Each day of the holiday opened
with devotional exercises in the col-
lege's War Memorial Hall conducted
by Padre W, A, Young, College Chap-
lain, An organ and piano recital was
held following the lunch period, and a
welcome extended to the visitors on
behalf of the College, the Women's
Institute Branch, and the Federated
Women's Institutes of Ontario. The
day was brought to a close with the
well-attended showing by Miss Anna
P. Lewis, Director, Federated Wom-
en's Institutes, of the coloured photo-
graphs taken during her recent tours
abroad and at home.
Each day of the week holiday had
its own special designation. Monday
was "Know Your Colleges Day," and
featured conducted tours of Maccion-
College. Tuesday "Meat and Poultry
Day," was devoted to tours, lectures,
and demonstrations by Professors
Stillwell and Snyder of the O.A.C.
staff. On Wednesday, "Horticulture

oughly. Sift dry ingredients together.
Add almond flavoring to milk, then
add the dry ingredients alternately
with the milk to the butter mixture.
Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour into oiled pans and bake in
preheated electric oven of 375 degrees

for 35 or 40 minutes.
