New Greenhouse
(Continued 'corn page 1)
never lot out until late the following
spring.
The job of manufacturing the strip,
ping and fittings and erecting green-
houses is apparently an exacting one,
for it is understood that there is only
one firm on this continent which
handles the work, Lord, and Burn-
ham, whose St. Catharines branch is
erecting the structure here. C 'Peggy,'
Lynn is in charge and his assistant
is Bob Harrison.
Owner. Born In England
Ernest Lewis is a native of Eng-
land and spent the earlier years of
his life there learning his business
with the thoroughness which is char-
acteristic of the English people. With
his wife he came to Canada in 1920
and spent the next 16 years as bead
grower at the Dale Estate in Bramp-
ton, one of the largest firms of its
kind in the world.
Mr, and Mrs, Lewis and their fam-
ily moved to Wingham thirteen years
ago, purchasing the greenhouse and
business from J. 31, Graham. Since
I that time the business has been
greatly enlarged and the Lewis firm
has become well known for the fine
qualky of their products.
Jack Lewis now follows in his
father's footsteps and is associated
present, There are also two daughters
in the family, both. of whom reside in
Wingham. They are Hazel, (Mrs,
Stewart Ritchie) and Betty (Mrs.
Doug Fry.)
We congratulate Mr. Lewis on the
spirit of enterprise which has been
responsible for the growth of this
thriving Wingham business.
