The demonstration of "Your Mon-
ey's Worth in Food," which the Wo-
men's Institute was sponsoring this
week has been cancelled owing to
Miss Margaret Myers, of the Ontario
Dept. of Home Economics Service,
having met with an accident.

Little Patricia Morris of Toronto,
is spending some time with her uncle
and aunt,.Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Walms-
ley.
Mr. andrs,: .Gordon Edgar and
their gignachildren, Frances and
Jimmy, visited on Saturday evening
with Mrs. Edgar's brother, Mr. Birks
Robertson and Mrs. Robertson at
Riversdale. Mrs. Robertson, who has
been ill, is improved somewhat in
health.

daughter of Plattsvillc, were week-
end visitors with Mr. and Mrs. W. E.

tor with his sister, Mrs. Alex Mc-
Kenzie, Harriston.
Mrs. John Gowdy spent Thursday
with friends in Woodstock.

ed on Sunday at the home of Mr. and

The W. A. of St, Stephen's Church
will meet on Thursday, May 10th.,
instead of the regular date, May 3rd.
Meeting will be held at the home of
Mrs, W. C. King at 2.30 p.m.
Women's Institute
The May meeting of the Gorrie
Women's Institute will be held at the
home of Mrs. Clarence Snarling on
Wednesday evening, May 9th., at 8
p.m. D. S. T. (please note change of
date.) Roll call "Something, new to
plant in my Garden." There will be
an exchange of bulbs, slips or seeds.
Mrs. Gordon Brown and Mrs. John
Baylor will he in charge of the pro-
gram.

Temperance Speaker
Rev. Harold Wellwood of Toronto,
was the guest speaker on Sunday
morning. He took as his text Isaiah
32: 1-2. "Behold a king shall reign in
righteousness and princes shall rule
in judgment." The great need of to-
day is "Are we building to help the
youth who will follow in our path?"

Monday night tho Fifty-Fifty Club
from Rarriston 'United Church pre-
sented their Minstrel Show for the
fourth time. It was sponSored 1)-Y
group 2 of the Gorrie United Church
W. A. and was an .enjoyable evening's
entertnintfient, It featured an orch-
estra, choruses, jokes, solos and duets.
Highlights were a double mixed
quartette, organ sequence, kitchen
orchestra and skits, Gay costumes
added to the colorful scene.
