TILE. VOlfCE OF TEMPERANCE
It is often claimed that what we
need is more Temperance education
make it known the harm that liq-
uor is doing, Whoever reads the
newspapers knows a lot about the
woe that goes with liquor-the acci-
dents and deaths on the highways
caused by drunken drivers - the
crimes that are committed when men
are under the influence of liquor.
Surely everyone knows the menace of
liquor, The trouble is that men's
conduct is not always governed by
their knowledge, They need to 'know'
and then beyond that they need the
will power to say "no". Advt.

TOMORROW NIGHT
News from Our Churches
The young ladies of the Baptist
Church met at the home of Mrs. Wm.
Tucker on Thursday evening for the
April meeting of the Mission circle.
The president, Mrs. Marie MacLean,
presided and opened the meeting by
all singing "He Hideth My Soul."
After the minutes and roll call were
read and adopted, Mrs. Bruce Mac-
Lean read a letter from Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Large, telling of their safe journ-
ey to Equitas, Equador.
The devotional for the evening was
given by Miss Lois l3urehill, basing
her remarks on this verse, "Now
therefore, I pray thee, if I have found
grace in Thy sight shew me now Thy
way, that I may know Thee, that I
may find' that this nation is Thy
people."
A season of prayer was conducted
by Mrs. Earl Weitz, Misses Mildred
Jones and Betty Moffatt. A lovely
solo entitled "Constantly Abiding,"
was rendered by Mrs. Merrill Cantel-
on, after which Mrs. Frank Collar
read a review of the study book
"Adrift." The hymn "Take the Name
of Jesus With You" was sung. The
main theme of the programme was
concerning the Jews in Arizona.
Several interesting articles were read
by various members of the circle, on
behalf of this great work. These mis-
sionaries are interested and are wit-
nessing to the Jewish neighbours and
are alert in giving forth the gospel
and passing out literature to enlighten
those hearts.
The closing hymn "Leave It There"
was sung and Mrs. Wm. Aiken closed
in prayer. A dainty lunch was served
and a social time enjoyed.

of the Goforth Evening Auxiliary was
held at the home of Mrs. W. Mc-
Kibbon last Tuesday, April 17th., with
a good attendance. The president,
Mrs. J. Donaldson, opened the meet-

Intosh and Mrs. L, Balser followed
with prayer,
It was decided to divide the junior

Leitch.

the boundless and never-failing love
of God for man, Peter had been ex-
horted by Jesus to feed His sheep,
and we, as sheep, had gone astray.
But God's love was all embracing and
in it we could find refuge and security
if we would but trust in Him. Mrs. de
