The C.G.I.T, held a bazaar and tea
on Saturday afternoon in the United
0- Church, They also displayed the lay-
ette which the girls had made for

Donnelly and Marie Hastie served at

In the three gamesplayed with

series for the Thtermediate "C" W.O.
II A.A. championship, Gorrie lost out by
a narrow margin in the first two but
really came back in the third game
at Milverton on Friday night, winning
• with a score of 6-3,
• The first of these closely contested
games was at Milverton on Monday
night of last week, when Milverton
Won 8-7. Second in the series was at
Wingham Wednesday night with Mil-
1 verton again winning 4-3, Scoring
goals for Gordo at this game were

Anglican Church
Funeral services were held at the
T. V. Edgar funeral home on Monday,
April 2nd., at 2 p.m., for Mrs. George
Allen, who passed away at the home
of her son in Boston, Mrs, Allen was
well known in this commuity as her
husband, Geo, Allen was station agent
at Wroxeter for many years. Inter-
ment was in Wroxeter cemetery.

Attend Achievement Day at Clinton
Nine Club girls who have been talc-
lug the Homemaking Course sponsor-
ed by the Currie Women's Institute,
"Working with Wool" attended Ach-
ievement Day in Clinton, on Tuesday,
March 27th, Miss Grace Edgar, re-
ceived County Honors having corn-
pleted 6 of these courses, Club lead-
er, Miss Grace Edgar and assistant,
Mrs. C. Walmsley, also Mrs. Vera
Gregg, Mrs. Glenn. Johnston and Mrs.
Jack Toner accompanied the girls.
One hundred and fifteen girls from
Huron County attended.
Receives Scholarship
Eric L. Vegan, a brother of Rev. G.
P. Vegan, rector of the parish of
Gorrie, Fordwich and Wroxeter, was
among the Western Ontario winners
of Research Council Scholarships val-
ued at $90Q,, announcement was made
last week at Toronto, A graduate of
the University of Western Ontario, he
is- at present taking post graduate
studies at McGill University, Mopt-
