Built by the donations of citizens and organizations who had recognized the great
work of the 75-year-old Hospital for Sick Children, this handsonie new building will
be formally opened on Jan. 15 as the future home of the hospital. Standing on Uni-
versity Avenue, Toronto, it will contaip the finest in treatment and ltiboratory
equipment, capable of meeting the needs of the largest out-patient, as well as in-patient,
demand in the world. Entire floors will also be devoted to research, maintaining the
hospital's record as the major research centre in child diseases in the world. During
the week of Jan. 15, the hospital will be open to visitors, and the trustees have ex-
tended an open invitation to everyone to view it before its little patients are moved in two weeks later.

Mrs. Murray Edgar and Miss
Eleanore Edgar are on a visit to
friends in Colorado,
Mrs. L, Ashton of Brampton visited
for a few days with relatives here

Mr, Lorne Robinson has sold his
farm on the 4th con. to Mr. Russel
Powell of
Mrs. Cameron Edgar returned last
week from Stratford ,hospital where
she had undergone a tonsil operation.
Howick Council met for the first
time in 1951 on Friday. It was opens
ed with devotional exercises by Rev.
J. R, Watt of the United Church and
Rev, G. D. Vogan of St. Stephen's
Anglican Church.
Mr. Mac Newton, who underwent
an operation for appendicitis in the
Wingham hospital, returned to his
home on Thursday and is making a
good recovery.
Mr. Geo. Black, of Paris and his
brother, Mr. Mar Black of Strathclair,
Man., visited Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Edgar and other friends in the com-
munity on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs, Chas. Finlay and.Mrs.
Jennie Edgar visited on Sunday at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Gowdy, B line, Howick.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dane attended
the funeral of the late Miss Jennie
litcEvers of Wingham on Saturday.

'at the prayer services on Tuesday
evening in the Anglican Church and
on Friday evening in the United
Church. Rev. 5. R. Watt chose for his
subject on Tuesday evening 'Courage'
and on Friday evening Rev. G. D.
Vogan's text was from Matt. 7.7 "Ask
and it shall be given you, seek and ye
shall find. knock and it shall be open-
ed unto vou."

this game they suffered tin' loss of

received a cut on his lip requiring

David Neilson Injured at
Hockey Game
David Neilson, a member of the
tIorrie hockey team suffered injuries
while playing Monday night of last
week in the Teeswater arena. Ile
tripped and fell hitting the 'boards, and
was taken to Wingham Hospital.
X-rays showed no bones were broken
but his spine was injujred. Latest
reports are that he will be in hospital
another week. His many friends wish
for him a speedy recovery,
