Tile annual meeting of the United
Church Sunday School was held in
the manse on Wednesday afternoon,
Rev, R. A. Brook presiding, assisted
by the superintendent Earl Hamilton,
Miss Margaret Curtis gave the treas-
urer's report, showing a substantial
balance, The promotion of pupils
was discussed .and also plans for en-
couraging attendance and the memor-
ization of Scripture. The following
officers were elected: Superintendent.

Mr. John Garniss, 3rd line Morris
is a patient in Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don where an-operation was performed
on Saturday. Mrs. Garniss also his
two daughters Nurse Edith 'Garniss
of Clinton and Mrs. Earl Elliott,
Turnberry have been with him. Mr.
Garniss is in his 89th year and had
always enjoyed good health. Reports
since the operation are favorable.
Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Lillow and baby
daughter of Stratford enjoyed a
family dinner' party at the home of
Black Bros., on New Year's.
