'Kindness' topic
for Walton UCW
Mrs. Graeme Craig was hostess
for the Walton 2 unit of Duff's
United Church Women for the
February meeting with 11 ladies
present.
Mrs. Hugh Johnston and Mrs.
Martin Baan lead in devotions.
Mrs. Johnston spoke on her topic
about kindness.
Business was dealt with by the
president Karen Hoegy. Margaret
Craig read the minutes. A thank
you letter and donation were
received from the McDonald famil-
ies and one from the Callander
Nursing home.
Dates were brought from the
general U.C.W. executive meet-
ing. World Day of Prayer service is
March 7 at Brussels Catholic
church. March 18 is the Grandmas
Quilting Party at Hensall United
Church. The Thankoffering is set
for April 20 at 2 p.m. The music
night is May 4 with the Clinton
High school choir to be present.
Members were in favour of starting
gifts for U.C.W. Presidents. Dates
for Blyth Festival suppers were
announced and the U.C.W. will
cater to a wedding meal in August.
The Barbecue date set for the
unit is June 28. A social half hour
was followed with refreshments
served by Maxine Houston and the
hostess.

Greeting worshippers Sunday
morning at Duff's United Church,
Walton were Harvey and Margaret
Craig. Margery Huether was
organist for the hymns. Bonnie
Lamble conducted the service. She
will not be present for March 9 but
there will be church at the usual
time along with Sunday School.
The sermon was "Land of
Promise" and Don McDonald
contributed the solo, "The Beauti-
ful Garden of Prayer."
