Gladys Jefferson, 93, died at the
People’s Care Centre Stratford,
on Tuesday, Jan. 21. 1986
Daughter of the iate William
John Jefferson and the former
Christena Cameron, of West
Wawanosh Township, she was
born Aug. 18 1892 in East
Wawanosh Township.
Si e was a registered nurse in
Goderich, Woodstock and Clinton
and a member of the United
Church of Canada and the Blue-

culture, living conditions, the
hospitals and medical problems in
Kenya.
Mrs. Harold Vincent thanked

Mrs. Dorothy Logan opened the
worship service with the Call to
Worship. ‘Let us consider the past
yearwitha view to improving one's
self in the new. Hymn, “For Thy
Mercy and Thy Grace" was sung.
Mrs. Ross Anderson read scripture
from II Timothy, verses 11-14
followed by prayer. Mrs. Dorothy
Logan read the meditation and the
offering was received and dedicat

worship service.
Mrs. John Roberts conducted
the business. It was decided to buy
an Easter Lily for the church and to

were read. Mrs. Les Shaw present
ed the budget for 1986.
The next meeting will beheld
March 27. The program will be

day, Feb. .. i986 of Elaine
Margaret McDowell of Cooks
town,
A former music supervisor for
the Huron and Simcoe County
Boards of Education, she was in
her 65th year. She was the wife ot
Murray McDowell and mother of
Heather McDowell of Toronto.
A:so surviving is a brother, Clifton
Walsh of RR 4 Brussels.
After resting in the Hughes
F meral Home, Cookstown, the
remains were moved to Cookstown
United Church on Monday, Feb
ruary 3, followed by cremation.
