St. James Church
On the fourth Sunday of Advent
it was pointed out at St. James
Church, Wroxeter, that Advent her-
alds the corning of the redemptive
principle into human affairs. It was
indicated that Advent, a season of
Pentinence, Prayer and Preparation
does not end until Christmas Eve, The
Christmas Season does not begirt until
Christmas Day. The colour of Advent
is Violet, the only relief from the Ad-
vent Violet this week is on Wednes-
day, when Red indicates the festival of
Thomas the Apostle.

CONTRACT BRIDGE
A grand slam in no trump is much
I too rare a delicacy to miss. When the
hand illustrated was played in a ten
tables game at Bridge Club last April,
just two pairs reached seven no trump.
Probably those four players relished ...
the experience to the degree that they -
still will recognize the hand if they
see it in print at this time.
