The Council met in the Clerk's Of-
e, December 3rd., 1040, according
to adjournment, the Reeve E. J. Far-
rish in the chair. All members .present.
The minutes of the last regular meet-
ing were read and on motion of Has-
kins and Zurbrigg were adopted as
read, Carried,
Moved by McMichael and Haskins
that the Road Superintendent put a
notice in the Winginon, Listowel and
Hanover papers notifying the Publi,:
that cars parked on the roadside, also
mail boxes, milk stands etc., too close
to the road will be at their own risk
while snowploughing k in effect. Car-
ried,
Moved by Gowdy and Zurbrigg that
Polling Booth No, 3 be changed from
Township Hall to the Clerk's Office
for election December 5th, 1949. Car-
ried.
Moved by Gowdy and McMichael
that the village of Gorrie Community
Club of Gorrie he given free access
and use of the Howick Township
Community Hall the choice of 12
nights each year. That the Caretaker
contact the Community Club Presi-
dent before the Hall is leased any
night so the club may have the opt-
ion of having the use of it if they
choose. This agreement to be in effect
a period of the next ten years, these
privileges to be given in lieu of the
payment of the sum of $1500.00 to
be paid by the Police Village for the
remodelling of the Hall, The Village
Trustees he allowed free use of this
Hall for 3 meetings each year to
conduct Village business, Carried.
Moved by Ha,skins and McMichael
that Mrs. Lottie Martin be charged
taxes on the assessment of the lot in
Wroxeter and the taxes on the assess-
ment of the house which was burned
last January 4th, be deleted from the
tax roll and that the Tax Collector be
ordered to notify her of the same and
the same to apply to Dobson Bros. lot
