5. C. Caley attended the funeral in
Wiarton on Wednesday of Dr. Selby
Foster, who was accidentally killed
on ,Monday morning when struck by
a truck on the highway, near Wiarton.
Dr. Foster is an uncle of the Foster
families, His wife survives.
Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Nay, Mr, and
Mrs. Glenn Johnston and family were
recent visitors in Toronto and Weston.

The Christmas meeting of the W.
M. S. was held in the church basement
with an attendance of 20, The vice-
president, 'Mrs. Earl Anderson was in
charge of the opening and the busi-
ness. The secretary and treasurer gave
their reports. It was reported that a
second bale of clothing valued at $100
hart been sent. The visits to sick and
shut-ins were reported. Rev. W. .1.

The Happy Heart Mission Band
was held in tile basenTent of the
church on Sunday, December 11th,
The meeting opened with a Worship
Service followed by the minutes of
the last meeting and theeroil call. The
election of officers for the coming
year were elected as follows; Presi-
dent, Evelyn Cook; Vice-President,
Donald Jardine; Secretary, Lorraine
Hanna; Assistant, Allen Campbell;
Treasurer, Donald Coultes; Pianist,
Marilyn Moores; Assistant, Marlene
MacKenzie. Leaders for the coming
.)ear are: Mrs, Edgar Wightman and
Mrs. Albert Coultes. Gwen Walsh
sang a solo, Silent Night, accompan-
ied by Marlene MacKenzie, A short
play was presented by a number of
the members. Paul Jardine. gave a re-
citation, Mrs. Norman Walsh read a
story to the children. The meeting was
closed with a hymn and the Lord's
prayer in unison.
Marie Adams, second daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Adams, under-
went at, operation for appendicitis in
Wingham General Hospital.
Mrs. Mac Rutherford of West Wa-
wanosh, spent the past two weeks with
Mrs. 0. G. Anderson.
Mrs. Robertson of Bluevale, is vis-
iting with her sister, .11 rs. M. Nichol-
son.
The sympathy of the community is
e\-.tended to ,Mrs. Smith of l-Iespeler
and Mrs. Montgomery of London, in
the death of their mother, Mrs. Cole,
and also to Mr, and Mrs. Wilfred
Pickell of St. Thomas in their bereave-
ment.
