Elizabeth Armstrong were in Bel- grave on Tuesday for the burial ser- vice of Dr. John McAsh, an uncle of Mr. Scott's. Dr. McAsh, formerly of Tara, died at the home of his son-in- law, Rev. W. A. Kincaid at Belmont. Mrs. Len.. Ruttan underwent an- operation in the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital on Monday of last week. She is making a satisfactory progress and is expected home this week. Mr. and Mrs, Percy Ashton are visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs. Mac Smith at Napanee. The Y.P.U. met on Monday, Nov. 14., The meeting opened with the hymn 511 "Lord of the Lands". The scripture was taken from Isaiah 9:1st Chapter and was read by Phyllis Ford. Eleanor Stephen's gave the topic on Newfoundland, followed by a quiz on Newfoundland. The secretary's re- ' port was read by Marie O'Krafka. A poem was read by Edith Hastie. The attendance was 14. The social period and sing-song followed. The meeting closed with the Benediction. Varrish attended Coun- ty Council in Goderich last week, Members were present at the unveil- ing of a memorial plaque commemorat- ing Sir, John Willison, outstanding Canadian journalist, who was born in Stanley Township, Huron Co, The plaque is on the wall of the Huron Co.
