first for gentlemen, Mr. R. R. Hunter
and Mr. Jack MacLean cut for second
place, Jack winning the draw. The
Variety Fair was chosen as the annual
Fall Project of the Women's Institute.
Mrs, John Lane was convener with
Mrs. A. ,Munro, Mrs, U. E. Cronhielm,
Mrs. T. Parker, Mrs. Wes. Newton
and Mrs. D, S. MacNaughton, mem-
bers of the committee in charge of the
arrangements. They and all the mem-
bers who worked hard to make the
Fair an outstanding event are, to be
congratulated.
A Former District Teacher at Wood-
eden's New Centre
A Cerebral Palsy Centre believed
the first of its kind established in
Canada has been set up at London,
Ontario. Tlke Centre is under the
board of Governors and the Ontario
Society for crippled children and is
affiliated with the University of Wes-
tern Ontario, At present on the staff
are Dr. T, H. Coffey, Medical Super-
intendent, three nurses and a teacher,
Mrs. Orma Pollock, London, a former
teacher at S. S. No. 2, Turnberry, has
accepted the teachers position at th:.,
new centre.
The Ladies For-Rest Club plan to
hold a Dance in Wroxeter Town Hall
on Nov. 30th. Farrier's Orchestra will
supply music and there will be a
booth in the hall. Everyone is invited.

MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
NOMINATION MEETING
A. Meeting of the Electors of the Town of Wingham for the
nomination of candidates for the office of Mayor, Reeve, Council-
ors, Public Utilities Commissioner and Public School Trustees, will
to be held at the
TOWN HALL, WINGHAM
on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 1949, at 7:30 p.m.
Immediately after the close of nominations at 8:30 p.m., can-
didates will address the Electors.
Candidates must be nominated in writing. The proposer and
seconder must be municipal electors and be present at the meeting.
If the proposed candidate is not at the meeting, evidence that he
consents to be so nominated must be attached to the nomination
paper.
At the nomination meeting or before 9 o'clock p.m. of the
same day a candidate may resign in respect of one or more offices
for which he is nominated, by filing his resignation in writing with
the Returning Officer, and, in default, he shall be deemed to be
nominated for the office for which he was first nominated,
When a candidate files a declaration of qualification for one
office at the nomination meeting or before 9 p.m. of the same day,
he shall be deemed to have resigned as candidate for all other
offices for which he was nominated.
All candidates for office shall file the required declaration of
qualification on or before nine o'clock in the afternoon of Tuesday,
November 29th, 1949.
In the event that an election is required, it will be held on
MONDAY, DECEMBER 5th, 1949
beginning at 9 o'clock in the morning and continuing until 5 o'clock
:in the afternoon of the same day, at the following places:
WARD No. 1—Stainton Hardware.
'WARD No. 2—C. Bushfield's Implement Office.
WARD No. 3—Town Hall.
WARD No. 4, P.S.D. 1—Wingham Motors Garage.
WARD No. 5, P.S.D. 2—Beaver Lumber Co. Office.
