Mr. Glen Cameron and Mrs. Robert
Purdon and little daughter of Pow-
asson spent the week-end here, with
the latter's mother, Mrs, Annie Hen-
derson, who accompanied them home
to Powasson on Monday.
Mrs. John Evans, and Mr. and Mrs.
Chas. Falconer and baby, John, of
Kincardine, spent Sunday with his
parents, Mr, and Mrs. Jas. Falconer.
Mr. Chas. Leaver has been visiting
with Toronto friends for the past few
weeks,
Rev. and Mrs, W, 5. Watt visited
on Friday with Rev, and Mrs. Robert
Watt of Gorrie.
Mr. Roy Robinson was able to re-
turn home on Friday after having a
cast Ma on his back and chest to save
Iris injured spine.
Mr. Aldin Purdon is a patient in.
Wingham Hospital with an injured
Spine.
About eighty members of the Wo-
men's Institute and their families and
friends sat down to a pot-luck supper,
with a pot-lock husband, on Friday
evening, in the Memorial Hall here.
After the supper Mr. and Mrs. Gar-
net Farrier led in eommunity singing,
With Rev. Mr. Currie as chairman for
the occasion, Mr, Geo. Gear, Agr. Rep-
resentative for Bruce gave a very inter-
esting talk on the future of Canada as
a producer of food for nations, saying
that so many countries in other lands,
had no outlook for the producer and
so little food for the people in those
lands. A debate, ,resolved that nten
should help the women with house-
work, caused great merriment, and all
sides of the problem were well thresh-
ed out with Mrs. Lance Grain and
Mrs. jag, Falconer, leading in the af-
firmative, nand with Mrs. Ernest
Casemore (Mrs. J. D. Dolittte) and
Mrs. Will Henry (Mr, T. M. Henpeck)

questiln„ Rev. W. J. Watt and Mr,
Ted Rice acted as judges, and gave
the decision in favour of the affirma-
tive with the admonition that thin gs
work better wth co-operation from all,
Mr. and Mrs. Rice sang two duets,
and a splendid program of musical
numbers and readings was enjoyed
by all. Tiffin Bros. played for the
dance that followed.
Mrs. Jim Moore of -Toronto, is visit-
ing with her father, Mr. jack John-
ston and with other Johnston relatives
in E. Wawanosh.
Mr. and Mrs. William Dawson
moved from their farm to their new
home east of the village on Thursday
last,

small toys, soap and wash cloths to

these things as gifts to newcomers.

Mrs. Ezra Welwood spent a few
days in Winginun Hospital last week
taking penicillin treatment for infec-
tion in her hand caused by a cat-bite.
Mr. Robert Henderson left on Mon-
day for an operation on his knee in
Westminster Hospital, Loudon.
Mrs. Lorne Johnston and Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Watson of Auburn visited
on Sunday with tome Johnston in
Westminster Hospital, London, Mrs.
Duncan -Kennedy accompanied them,
