Dane - Taylor
The Wesley Willis United Church,
Clinton, was the scene of a lovely
nuptial, presided over on Saturday,
October 1, by Rev. H. C. Wilson of
Clinton.
The pretty bride, Eleanor Jean, dau-
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin H. Tay-
lor of Belgrave, was united' in mar-
riage to Mr. John Edgar Dane, son
of Mr, and Mrs. William H, Dane of
Wroxeter, in a quiet ceremony accom-
panied by soft music.
The bride wore a white nylon mar-
quisette gown with lace trimmed ber-
tha collar and flounce, sweet heart
neckline, puff sleeves and Gothic hand
beaded coronet, which held her full
length veil of French illusion. She

attended by her cousin, Miss Marian
Smith of Listowel, as maid of honour,
who wore a floor length gown of Idle
green tissue faille taffeta and by her
bridesmaid, Miss Ada Dow of Wing-
barn, who wore a floor length gown of
orchid tissue faille taffeta, Miss Smith•
and Miss Dow both wore matching
headdresses arid carried colonial bou-
quets of yellow Glosia roses, The
groom was attended by Mr, Stanley
Hayes of Wroxeter as best man.
The couple, assisted by ,the bride's
mother, wearing a lovely taupe hand
beaded two piece ensemble, with grey,
Eugene hat trimmed with vile green
feathers and corsage of Talisman ros-
es. The groom's mother assisted, wear-
ing a beautiful one piece wine dress,
with black accessories and corset. e of
yellow roses, received their guests at
a reception held at the bride's parents
home,
Later the bride, wearing a gain-
borough blue gabardine skit with grey
feather hat and matching accessories
left with her husband on a motor
trip through Northern Ontario.
Upon their return the couple will
reside in Howick Township. Guests
were present from Wroxeter, Gorrie,
Listowel, St. Catharines, Atwood and
Brussels.
Trouseau Tea
Mrs. Melvin Taylor of the Sixth
Line of East Wawanosh, was hostess
to a large number of ladies in the
community when she entertained at a
trouseau tea in honor of her daughter
Eleanor, whose marriage took place
on Saturday.
Mrs. C. Ritchie of Walton and Mrs.
H. Smith of Listowel displayed the
many beautiful wedding gifts; Miss
Ada Dow and Miss Marion Smith of
Listowel, the linens, and Mrs. James
Davis and Mrs. E. Rymer of Kitch-
ener, the trousseau. Tea room attend-
ants were Mrs. Iva Wightman and
Miss Ena Stackhouse of Brucefield,
Mrs. Wth, Smith of Brussels and 'Airs.
BLUEVALE
About 60 homemakers registered for
the cooking course "Your Money's
Worth in Food" in the Community
Hall on two afternoons this week.
Miss Barbara Broadfoot of the. Home
Economics Service Department of
Agriculture, was the 1)emonstrator
and the local Women's institute the
sponsors. ,Miss 13roadfoot distributed
Agriculture Department Health
Charts and receipt booklets, 1940 edi-
tions free to everyone, and gave lec-
tures on the food values of milk,
cheese, meat, salads, fruits, soy beans
and all vegetables. She prepared a full
meal each afternoon and the result
was passed around for all to taste.
She advised her audience to fill up
on vitamins first before indulging in
the less valuable delights of pies, cak-
es and pickles. Mrs. J. A. Burden
moved a vote of thanks to the demon-
strator- for the valuable lessons and.
the benefits received from her pleasing
manner. Miss ]3roadfoot will give the
course in Whitechurch_this week.
Church News
Communion service was observed at
the morning service in the United
Church, and was conducted by the
minister, Rev. J. A. Burden.
Rev. Mr. Taylor- of Shakespeare,
occuPied the pulpit in Knox Presby-
terian Church in the absence of the
minister, Rev. Leland C. Jorgensen,
who preached anniversary services at
Shakespeare.
Next Sunday the Rally Day pro-
gramme will be carried out with :nun-
bers of the Sunday School taking part.
Mr. R. H. McKinnon has taken.

Foresters' Hall, Belgrave, honouring
their recent marriage. Mr. Harvey

Will Dedicate • United Church Organ
Next Sunday morning in the Unit-
ed Church the new organ will be dedi-
cated at a special service, There will
also at a baptismal service.
Trinity Anglican Church
Harvest Thanksgiving Services will
be held in Trinity' Anglican Church,
Belgrave, on Sunday, October 9, at 11
a,m. and 8 p.m., standard time. Rev.
G. Murray Wyatt will have charge of
the morning services and Rev. , W. J.
Moores will preach at the evening
service. There iyill be special music
at both services and everyone is in-
