Little Betty Zinn is laid up with an
attack of chicken pox.
Mr. Samuel Morrison, formerly of
Kinloss, passed away on Tuesday ev-
ening last at his home in Lucknow, af-
ter. an Hines of a few weeks. He was
in his eighty-second year. His widow,
formerly, Miss Alton of Aslifield, and
two suns, Gordon of W. Wawanoh
and Melvin on the Kinloss homestead,
and two granddaughters survive. In-
terment was made in Greenhill ceme-
tery, on Thursday with his pastor of
Lticknow United Church, in charge of
the services at the house and grave.
Born—In Ktiehener General Hos-
pital, on Monday, September 26th, to
Mr, and Mrs. Melvin MeClenaghan,
a son, Michael Dennis.
Mrs. Harry Moss and sons of
Bright, spent a few days last week
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. lien

Wingham Hospital on Thursday last
and has been improving.

Mrs. Edmund Irwin of Goderich,
and Mr. Will Ellsley of Benmiller,
visited on Sunday at the home of the
former's , brother, Mr. Harold Walker.
Mr. Walker has been able to sit up
for a few minutes each days for the
past few days.

eighty-sixth birthday tins week-end,

Mr. John Mowbray, who resides with
them, is celebrating his eighty-fifth
birthday on October 11th.
About forty-five of the Kari Shea
Institute of Kinloss and the White-
church Women's Institute ladies
gathered in the Memorial Hall here on
Thursday and Friday afternoons last
week, to enjoy the Demonstration put
on by Miss Barbara Broadfoot of the
Home Economics Dept., Toronto,
"Let's Cook it Right". On Thursday,
with Mrs. Mac Ross as her helper,
she prepared a dinner of pork chops,
boiled potatoes, boiled cabbage, bar-
yard beets, and custard pudding, and
prepared cookie dough of date and
oatmeal for Friday baking. On Friday,
Miss Broadfoot, with Mrs. Grain as
assistant, prepared baked potatoes,
fish, lettuce and turnip salad, and
chocolate pudding, and the cookies.
