Nay ,Kitchener. David McComb Bridge A pioneer of Minto Township, urday, Sept. 24th, at the home of his David McComb Bridge, died on Sat- son, Mr. Russel Bridge, 9th con. Bur- ial was on Monday, Sept. 26th, in Pal- merston cemetery, following a service in the Palmerston United Church. Deceased was in his 90th year and leaves to mourn his loss a family of eleven children. Hi wife predeceased him eleven years ago, also a son, Roy. Communion Service 7- Gorrie United Church joined with other christian churches in the ob- servance 1:4 world-wide communion service, Sunday, October 2nd. Rev. J. Robert Watt, based his remarks on the text, "But they made light of it," found in St. Matthew, chapter 22, verse 5. His' theme presented a vivid picture of the partible of the "wedding of the King's son", taken from St, Luke's gospel, chapter 14, verses 15.24 and was ati inspiration to each one. Robinson for the pur- pose of re-organizing the W.M.S. and W.A. The following devotional pro- gramme was arranged and presided over by Mrs. Robert Charnney. The Scripture lesson, the 23rd Psalm, was read by Mrs. Arnold Craig, followed by The Lord's Prayer in unison. A reading by Mrs. Stuart Chamney, en- titled, "The Church with No Lights"; solo, "Near to the Heart of God", by Mrs. H. Jefferson, and a paper on "The Shepherd Psalm by Mrs. Mark Armstrong. Mrs. John RnThompson presided at the piano. Following the meeting these officers were chosen for the remainder of the year: President, Mrs. Arnold Craig; 1st Vice-Pres., Mrs. Chas, Jefferson; 2nd Vice-Pres., Mrs. Wm.
