London spent last week with her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Martin, and
returned home to London on Sunday

The welldrillers have been busy the
past week drilling a well at the North
side of Mr. Jas. Falconer's house,
Jim has had a big job drawing water
for stock and home use during the
past few months and is hoping to see
the end of that job soon.
Mrs. AV. R. Farrier and her sister,
Mrs. Sam Reid of Lucknow, left on
Monday to spend this week at London
at the Fair and with Mrs. Reid's dau-
ghter, Mrs. Clipperton.

The hydro company have installed
two more street lights East of the
village. Mr. Jas. McInnis is having
his house wired.
• Mr. Donald' Watt of Toronto, is
spending this week at his home here,
and Miss Muriel Watt of Victoria
Hospital, London, is also spending a
few days with her parents, Rev. and
Mrs. W. J. Watt. Mr. Watt had
charge of Anniversary services at
Hampton on Sunday,
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Young of New
Toronto spent a few days last week
with her aunts, Mrs. Mac Ross and
Mrs. Thos. Moore, and with other
MacGregor relatives in this district.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Moore, Mrs.
Walter James and her two sons, visit-
ed last week-end at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Elgin Welwood of Caledon.
Mr. and Mrs, Moore visited recently
at the home of their son, Mr. Russel
Moore, and their daughter, Mrs, Basil
Thompson, both of Preston. The little
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Russell
Moore is still in the hospital with the
leg paralyzed to the knee with polio.
She has 'been showing signs of im-
provement.
Mrs. Jas. Wilson Sr., spent a few
days last week with her sister Mrs.
Wm. Simpson of Cuiros and with her
brother, Mr. Walter Ferguson.
Mrs. John Ryan was very ill last
week and went through an operation
for appendicitis in Goderich Hospital,
on Saturday morning.
Miss Isabel Barbour daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Barbour, of
Fordyce went through and operation
for appendicitis in Wingham Hospital
on Thursday last.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gillespie and
Donna of Palmerston spent the week-
end here, and on Sunday they and
Mrs. Lorne Johnston Miss Mildred
MeCtenaghan Miss Grace McKinnon,
and Mr. Orval Elliott visited with
sick relatives in London Hospitals.
Mr, Elliott has been improving, Mrs.
Elliott is also very ill at her home in
Miss Guilda Stapleton of Culross,
visited on Sunday with Miss Marjorie
Elliott.

Threshing has been completed in
this district and on the whole, the
grain was a good sample and good
yield. The farmers have been busy
sowing their fall wheat and at present,
silo filling is the order of the day.
The corn is also a good crop.
Mrs. Wm. Miller and Jimmie, of
Goderich, visited last week with Mrs.
Gordon Snell.
Mr, Albert Campbell returned home
from Wingham General Hospital on
Saturday evening and we are glad to
report he is recovering nicely follow-
ing his accident,
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brophy and
Michael spent a couple of days with
Mrs. Brochu of Toronto.
Several of the ladies of the W.M.S.
attended the meeting of the Odd in
the Anglican Church at Auburn on
Tuesday. During the program Mrs.
Donald Snell rendered a solo,
Mrs. Jack Campbell of Aylmer, Mrs,
Win, Hodgson and Randi of Chilli-
wack, B. C., visited on Friday at the
home of Mr, and Mrs. Elwin Taylor.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. IvieVittie visited
on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Chester
Taylor of St. Helens., Mrs, Wm. Tay-
lor who had spent the past three
weeks with Mr. and Mrs. MeVittie re-
turned to St. Helens with them.
Mr. and Mrs, Mansei Cook and
family visited on Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. E. Rodger.
Mrs. J. L. McDowell spent last
week with her daughter, Mrs. John
Gear of Kitchener.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Vincent of Mar-

Westfield boys are the champions this
year in their group.
