Rev, and Mrs, Lors Carlson have
returned to their home in Hamilton
after spending a Week with Mr, and
Mrs. Gordon Hastie, Bluevale Road,
Mr. and Mrs. Hastie accompanied
them and spent a few days in Hamil-
ton,
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Blackball of
Toronto, spent the week-end at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Con-
gram. They were accompanied home
by Mrs. Charles Blackhall, who has
been visiting in Gravenhurst and Tor-
onto.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bennett and
three children, new residents of town,
have taken up residence in Hillcrest.

hydro office and organist and choir-
master of the Wingham United
Church.

WEDDINGS
VanCamp - Campbell
Ferns, gladioli and asters decorated
Knox United Church, Belgrave, for
the wedding of Gladys Velma Camp-
bell and Mr. Clare Eldon VanCamp,
on Saturday last. The bride is the
eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Floyd
Campbell, of the 5th concession of
Morris Township, and the bridegroom
is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
G. VanCamp, also of Morris Town-
ship. Rev. W. J. Moores officiated.
Miss Elaine Walsh, R.M.T., pre-
sided at the organ and played tradi-
tional wedding music, The Bridal
Chorus from Lohengrin and Mendel-
ssohn's Wedding March. Mr. Clifton
Walsh of Belgrave, as soloist, sang
"For You Alone" and "Through the
Years." The bride entering the church
on the arm of her father, was lovely
in a white bridal satin gown designed
with net yoke and full skirt, extending
into a train. A headdress of seed pearls
held her full-length veil of embroider-
ed French illusion. She carried a show-
er bouquet of red Better Time roses.
Miss Ivy Campbell, sister of the bride,
was maid of honor in a gown of green
organdy over silk, wide sash tied in a
large bow. She wore a Juliet cap -of
green net and carried a bouquet of
yellow roses, Miss Amy Smith, Bel-
grave, as bridesmaid, was gowned in
yellow organdie over silk, made in
similar style to the maid of honor's,
She wore a Juliet cap of yellow net
and carried deep yellow roses. The
flower girl, Kay VanCamp, sister of
the bridegroom wore a pink taffeta
frock and carried a basket cif Briar-
cliff roses.
John VanCamp, Wingham,
brother of the bridegroom, was best
man and the ushers were, Mr. Donald
Campbell, brother of the bride, and.
Mr. Glen VanCamp, brother of the
bridegroom both of lielgrave, Follow-
ing the ceremony, a reception was held
in the Sunday School room of the
church. The decorations were pink
and white streamers and autumn flow-
ers,- Mrs, Campbell received, gowned
in navy With pink accessories and cor-
sage of, pink roses. Mrs. VanCamp,
mother of the bridegroom, was dress-
ed in navy bine with matching acces-
sories and a corsage of pink roses,
The assistants were Misses Muriel
Anderson, Miss. Audrey Bradburn,

Mr. ,and Mrs. VanCamp left on a
motor trip to Northern Ontario. The
bride had chosen for her travelling
costume a gray suit with rose acces-
sories. Guests were present from
Thessalon, London, Lucknow, Glen-
coe and Wingham. The couple will
reside on the bridegroom's farm, on
the fifth concession of Morris Town-
ship.
Fogarty - Fleming
A pretty wedding took place in the
Sacred Heart Church, Wingham, when
Rev. F. J. Bricklin united in marriage
Kathleen, daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. John Fleming and 1\1. r. William
Fogarty of Toronto. Given in marriage
by her brother-in-law, Mr. Chris
Newman, the bride wore a gown of
heavenly blue nylon net over taffeta
with matching headdress of velvet
trimmed with flowers, matching elbow
length mittens, and shoulder veil. She
carried a fan bouquet of white gladioli.
The bride was attended by Mrs.
Joseph Gill, as matron of honor, who
was gowned in pale yellow brocaded
satin with matching headdress and
elbow-length gloves and carried a
bouquet of mauve gladioli. :Nliss Viv-
ien Ernest, presided at the organ and
the soloist was Mrs, A. J. Lockridge.
The best man was Mr. LeVerne New-
man, Wingham, and Mr.. John Groark
and Mr. Raymond Fleming were ush-
ers,
Following the ceremony a dinner
was held at the Brunswick Hotel. For
a reception held at the home of the
bride's sister, Mrs, Chris Newman re-
ceived wearing a teale blue dress with
navy accessories and corsage of red
roses. Receiving for the bridegroom,
Miss Edna Morrish, of Toronto, wore
black bengaline with matching velvet
hat and corsage of red roses. For' a
wedding trip to New York the bride
donned a brown English Cromwell
suit with matching accessories. Mr.
and Mrs. Fogarty will reside in Tor-
on
Campbell - Bradshaw
A pretty wedding was solemnized
at the manse of the Presbyterian
Church, Listowel, on Saturday, Sept.
W„ at high noon, when Rev. Kelly
united in marriage Mary Eileen dau-
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Brad-
shaw, Grey Township, and :Hugh
Archibald, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver
Campbell, Morris Township.
The. 'bride was charming in a floor-
length gown of slipper satin wil' lace
yoke, fitted bodice and full skirt. Her
finger-tii veil of embroidered net was
held with a coronet of orange blos-
soms and lily-of-the-valley. She cat.
rigid a shower bouquet of red roses.
!Her only ornament was a string of
pearls, the gift of the groom.
The bride was attended by her only
sister, Viola, gowned in turquoise taf-
feta, with snatching bead-dress. She
carried a bouquet of pink and white
asters, Charlie Campbell, brother of
the groom, was groomsman.
Following the ceremony the bridal.
party returned to the home of the
bride's parents, where a wedding din-
ner was served to the immediate
friends. Later in the afternoon the
bridal ocuple left for • Niagara. For
travelling the bride wore a navy blue
gabardine suit with matching acces-
sories .and a corsage of red roses.
Pletch- Higgins
A pretty wedding was solemnized
at the United Church Manse, Brus-
sels, uniting in marriage, Edna Marie,
youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs,
Nelson Higgins to Thomas William
Pletch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herb.
Pletch, both of Morris Township. Rev.
Andrew Lane performed the cere-
mony.
The bride chose a brown wool gab-
ardine suit with matching green acces-
sories, and wore a corsage of red
Johanna Hill roses.
A reception followed at the home
of the bride's parents, Later the bridal
couple left on a motor trip to Tor-
onto, Niagara Falls and points south.)
Walker - Johann
At the home of the bride's mother,
on Wednesday, September 7th, Rev,
J. H. Martin, Minister of Belmore
United Church, united in marriage,
Margaret Ruth, daughter of Mrs, Fred
Johann, of Belmore, and Wilfred Wal-
ker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo, Walk-
er, of Wingham.. Mrs. Alan Darling
of Belmore, played the wedding music.
Given in marriage by her brother,
Wilfred Johann, the bride wore a floor
length gown of white slipper satin
with tucked bodice and lace inserts,
Her full-length veil was of embroider-
ed silk tulle held in place with a head-
dress of white gardenias and ribbon
bows. She wore a double strand of
pearls, the gift of the groom, and car-
ried a white Bible with ribbon stream-
ers.
Miss Joyce Darling of Mildmay, as
bridesmaid, was gowned in turqouise
taffeta, with matching headdress. She
carried a bouquet of white gladioli
The groom was attended by his
brother, Ernest Walker of Wingham.
At the reception winch followed 'he
ceremony, Mrs. Johann received in a
dress of flowered jersey with black
accessories. She was assisted 'by the
groom's mother in a dress of wine
crepe, with black accesories.
For travelling the bride chose a grey
suit with wine accessories and a cor-
sage of yellow roses. After their wed-
ding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Walker will
reside on the groom's farm near Bel-
grave.
Norman - Ballagh
An archway of pink and white
streamers banked with asters and
gladioli, made a lovely setting for the
marriage on Thursday of Elda Mae
Ballagh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Ballagh, Teeswater, to John
Wallace Norman, son of Mr. and Mrs,
James Norman, Wingham. Rev. J.
Hardwick was the officiating clergy-
man, and Mrs. R. H. King played
the wedding music. Wallace Ballagh,
brother of the bride sang, "I'll Walk
Beside You."
Given in marriage by her father, the
bride was lovely in a white satin gown
fashioned on princess lines with inset
lace panels. Her finger-tip veil of tulle
illusion was caught to a halo of se-
quins. She carried a cascade bouquet
of red roses.

bride, was bridesmaid, wearing a
yellow taffeta gown with nyldn yoke
and full bustle skirt, she carried a
bouquet of pink rose* Mr. K. C.
Press, Belmore, brother-in-law of the
groom, was groomsman.
A reception followed at the home,
Mrs. Ballagh, mother of .the bride,
wore a navy and gold satin two piece
dress with a corsage of pink roses.
Mrs. Norman, mother of the groom,
was gowned in a navy crepe dress
with needle point pattern and a cor-
sage of red roses.
The bridal couple left on a honey-
moon trip to eastern points and on
their return will reside on the groom's
farm at Wingham.
Young - Dark
Wilma Lillian, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. A. J.Dark, of London, and form-
erly of Wingham, and Brian Gordon
Young, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. G.
Young, Elias Street, were united in
marriage on Saturday last, in a cere-
mony performed by Rev, E. A. Pink-
erton at Egerton Street Baptist Par-
sonage,
The bride was attractive in a street
length dreSs of pale blue crepe and
wore with it navy accessories and a
corsage of white Sweetheart roses. She
was attended by Miss Betty Jane Wil-
son, London, wearing a gray crepe
dress, with Twine accessories and a
corsage of red roses. Best man was
Tom Maurice, London.
Receiving guests at Allan's Restaur-
ant, the bride's mother, wore a gown
of flowered crepe, with navy accessor-
ies and a corsageof pink roses. She
was assisted by the mother of the
groom,' in an ensemble of navy crepe,
with matching accessories, and a sim-
ilar corsage.
The couple will live in London fol-
lowing a trip to Niagar, Buffalo and
Rochester, New York,
