Darling to drive some cattle, he lost

Mr. and Mrs. Gerrond Duff and

ter all of Welland, visited Ilhievale
relatives for a few days.

Scott, spent Sunday at the home of
C. H. Garniss in Seaforth and called
on Mrs. Garniss, who is a patient in
the Scott Memorial Hospital.

Marilyn, of Ingersoll, were week-end
.visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Burns Moffatt.
Miss Eileen McKinney and Miss
Jean McGillivray, of Victoria Hospi-
tal Nursing Staff, London, spent the
week-end with Mrs. W. H. McKinney.
John Mundell is holidaying at the
home of his grandmother, Mrs. Chas.
Carter at Wingham.
Miss Eleanor Smith spent last week
with her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
Griffiths at Stratford.
Bill Lutz of Auburn, spent last week
with his cousin, Jim Darling.

her aunt, Mrs. W. J. Johnston.
Married Men -Provide Supper
Mr. and Mrs, John K, McTavish
opened their home on Friday night
for a social event of local, interest,
Early in the season, the young married
men of the community challenged the
single men for a game of baseball, the
losing team to sponsor a supper. Last
evening the married men and their
wives served a sumptuous repast to
twenty-seven. Following the supper,
short addresses were givep, when ap-
preciation was expressed for the fine
spirit of co-operation which existed
throughout the season. Bob Cunning-
ham favored with vocal selections, ae-
compaqied by Miss Ryan of Brussels.
.The season closed with a small cash
and a mask, a gift from Tory Gregg,
surplus, besides balls, bats, score board
the popular CKNX Sports director.
'!Four tables of euchre were played,
=Mfrs. Harry Elliott and Elmer Sellers
held the high score and the consolation
„prizes went to Mongo McFarlane and
.'Nfrs. Elmer Sellers. A vote of thanks
was extended to Mr. and Mrs. Mc-
Tavish for their hospitality and to
,'success, bringing to a close a pleasant

Knox Church Ladies Aid
Mrs. Alex Shaw opened tier home
for the August meeting of the Morris

-Presbyterian Church. The attendance
,was good and during the afternoon,
the ladies sewed ou garments supplied
by the hostess. Mrs. R. J. McMurray
conducted a short devotional period
and led in prayer. Mrs. Frank Shaw
read the scripture message front Psalm
95. The Lord's Prayer was repeated in
unison. The hostess served a delicious
lunch bringing- to a close a pleasant
and profitable afternoon.

The Ebenezer Women's Associa-
tion of the United Church met this
past week at the home of Mrs. Jim
Flston, with a good attendance. The
'president, Mrs. Charles Bosnian, pre-
usided and plans were made for the
annual Bazaar to be held later in the
fall, Mrs. J. A, Burden told an
esting story based on the Parable of
;the five loaves and two fishes. The
