The village park was the scene of
a pleasant get together on Tuesday of
last week, when Wroxeter Public
School combined with the United
Church Sunday School to hold their
annual picnic, The largest attendance
in many years gathered for 6 o'clock
picnic lunch, which was followed by a
programme of contests and races with
prizes for all, A ball game ,married
men against the single men wound up
a very successful picnic,
Edgar Reunion
Descendants of the late Charles
Edgar, numbering 110 met in Wrox-
eter village park Of) Saturday after-
noon for their annual Family Reun-
ion, The oldest guest was Mrs, Robt,
Ireland, Teeswater, The youngest a 7
months old child from Kincardine,
Both were presented with a gift. A
well arranged programme of sports
and contests were carried out and re-
freshments enjoyed, Friends were
present from. Aurora, Toronto, Luck-
now, Dungannon, Atwood, Holyrood,
Kitchener Kincardine Wingham and
Teeswater.

Mr. and Mrs, Reg. Jenning, Bobby
and Ronald of Detroit, spent over the
week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Wm,
Walden,
Mrs. Alva McDowell spent a few
days last week at Bogie's Beach.
Mrs. A. E. Johnston, Mr. Morley
Johnston of West Wawanosh, visited
on Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Howard
Campbell.
A number from this vicinity attend-
ed the Taylor re-union at Seaforth on
Friday.
Several from this community attend-
ed the Memorial service at Ball's Cem-
etery, Auburn, and also at Brandon
Cemetery, Belgrave, on Sunday even-
ing.
Mr. and Mrs, E. W, Brown of St.
Thomas, spent the week-end with the
former's sister, Mrs. Frank Campbell
and Miss Winnifred.
Miss Velma Snell of Windsor, was
a week-end guest at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Elwyn Taylor.
Mr. Gerald Eisler of Souris, Mani-
toba, grandson of Mr. David Cook,
visited last week with Mrs. Fred Cook
and family.
Guests last week at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Jos, Brophy, were Mr. and
Mrs. Sullivan and Lynda, Miss Pauline
Balm of Toronto. Mrs. Brochu, who
has spent the past two weeks with
Mrs, Brophy returned to Toronto with
Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan.
Miss Norma Nethery of Hamilton,
visited on Sunday with Mrs. F. Cook.
Mr. Eddie Taylor, Misses Norma
and ila Taylor visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gurney at their cot-
tage at Kincardine. Miss Ila remain-
ing for a week.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn MeKercher
spent the week-end at their cabin at
Port Elgin.
Miss Dorothy Dennis who has
taught near Stratford for the past
year is holidaying with her parents. `

Toronto, spent the week-end with Mr.
and Mrs, Ned. 'Thompson.
Mr. James Breckenridge of Nash-
ville. Tenn., and Mr. Walter Messer
of London, called on old friends in the
community one day last week,
Miss Mary Jacklin is spending
sometime with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Richard Jacklin.
On Friday afternoon a good.,crowd
gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Lee Breckenridge, when S. S. No. 10,
Morris, held their picnic there. Ball
games, races and etc., were enjoyed
by the older folks as well as the little
ones, During the afternoon an address
was read and a presentation of crystal
ware was made to Miss Jeanne Anness
who has taught in S. S. No. 10. for the
past three years. Miss Anness had
made many friends during her stay
here.

Wingham General Hospital for
some weeks, has returned to his home
Some what improved in health.
Mr. Thos. and Miss Beatrice Shear-
er were Sunday guests of Mr. and
Mrs, N, T. McLaughlin. Wingham,
Mr, and Mrs, Norman Such of Shel-
burne, Sasketchewan, spent last week
with. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stamper,
2nd. line of Turnberry.
Public School term ended, on Wed-
nesday, Principal Hamilton presided
over Entrance examinations at Ford-
wich. The staff of four have been re-
engaged. Principal Hector Knight and
assistant, Mrs. J. C. Caley for the
Continuation School. Principal Harold
Hamilton and Mrs. G. A, Wearring,
Public School, Miss Helen Sawtell,
who has been music supervisor for
Howicts schools has resigned and will
attend Stratford Normal the coming
year.
Miss Lenora Higgins R. N., of the
Victoria Hospital Staff, London, was
a week-end visitor with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Higgins.
Mr. and Mrs, F. Schiding, London,
visited over the week-end with Mr.
and Mrs, John Colwill.

stock, Fordwich, spent last week at
the MacNaughton home.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Moffat were
Toronto visitors during the week.

Edith Forsyth, Long Branch, Mr. and
Mfrs, Lan Brothers and daughter,

Mrs. Brothers and Cosey, are remain-
ing for a longer visit.
Miss Edna Hupfer, Sudbury, is
spending. the summer vacation with
her mother, Mrs, Robert Hupfer,
Mr. and Mrs. John Howes also Miss
Alice Howes. Toronto, are holidaying
with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gil-
bert Howes. Mr. Russel Bateman also
of Toronto, arrived by plane on Sat-
urday to spend the week-end at file

Mr. and Mrs. Laurie VanVelsor of
Hamilton, were week-end guests of
Mrs, W. E. VanVelsor and Miss Rona.
Mr. and Mrs. Kennth Gibson, Ham-
ilton arrived last week to open their
summer home here.
Misses Pauline and Yvonne White,
Toronto, spent the week-end at their
summer residence here.
Mr. Harold Hamilton returned on
Monday from Wingham General Hos-
pital, where he had a tonsil operation.
We are pleased to know he is making
a good recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. E. J, Jackman, Tor-
onto, were holiday guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Thos. Brown.
Mr. R. 13. Hunter, local 13ank Man-
ager, is enjoying a three week's vaca-
tion.
Mrs. H. H. Waller, her daughter.
Mrs. Lily Carr and son, Dean, Tor-
onto, have arrived in the village for
the holiday months.
Miss Moffat Presented
The Fordwich and Wroxeter Bank
Staff's joined on Thursday afternoon
to present Afisa, Margaret Moffat with
a silver gravy boat with tray in grape
design, Miss Moffat who has been a
valued member of the staff for several
years, resigned at the end of June,
Millar Reunion
About 90 decendants of the late
John R. Millar, registered for their an-
nual reunion on July 1st,. in Wrox-
eter Park, Tables were set tinder the
lovely maple shade trees, and during
the afternoon a programme of sports
and giunes were carried out. Mr. T. A.
Gibson was the oldest present and
was presented with a book. Guests
were present from London, Toronto,
Detroit and many places in the home
district, Plans were made to hold the
1950 Millar Reunion in the Wroxeter
village park on July 1st.
Women's Missionary Society
Mrs. A. J. Sanderson and Mrs. W.
G, Gibson are arranging the July

Church Receives New Members
Holy Communion followed morning
service in the United Church on Sun-
day, July 3rd, when four new mem-
bers were received into the church,
Mr, and Mrs. Andrew Adams, Mrs,
Wes. Newton and Mrs. George Gib-
son,
There was an unfortunate accident
at the Millar Reunion on- July 1st„
when Mrs. Wm, MacDonald, while
helping prepare the noon meal tripped
on a stone and fell breaking her nose.
The injury was taken care of by Dr,
R, 13. Palmer,
S. S. No. 2 held a picnic on the
school grounds on Wednesday last.
Miss Helen Walker, teacher, was in
charge of the programme and the
children enjoyed races and other
sports, The mothers were guests. Re-
freshments were Served,.
