don, is home for her holidays.
Miss Zona Newton, Reg, N., of the
staff of Victoria Hospital, London,
was a visitor with her parents Rev.
M. G. and Mrs. Newton.
Many of the ladies of the school
section accepted the invitation of the
teachers, Mr. Graham MacDonald and
'Miss Beatrice McQuillin, and the pup-
ils to attend the annual Red Cross
Social on Friday afternoon, Lois
Webb, president of the Junior Red
Cross presided and Mr. Baxter, mus-
ical director was accompanist for the
most enjoyable program which includ-
ed, choruses, Folk dances,, . singing
games, readings by Ruth Webb and.

the conclusion lunch was served after
which many took advantage of the op-
portunity to see the work that had
been done by the children,
Commenting next Sunday, service in
the United Church will be held at 10
a.m. Daylight Time with Sunday
School following.

Reeve Murray Johnson, Wingham;
Reeve Finnigan, West Wawanosh, and
Reeve J, D. Beecroft, East Wawanosh
are attending meeting of County Coun-
cil in 'CrOderich this week and made the
trip with the council to London on
Wednesday to Western University,
enjoying -,a banquet served to them

council on Monday evening, in the
Presbyterian Church, Goderich.
The regular monthly meeting, of the
Women's institute will 'be held next
Tuesday in the Hall, when Mrs. Nor-
man Keating, Wingham, will be the
special speaker. Lunch will be served
and all the ladies of the community are
cordially invited to attend, The local
Institute has accepted -an invitation to
spend this Friday. afternoon with the
Lucknow Institute and those who have
no way of going. will please report to
either., the president or the secretary,
who are arranging loads.
Mrs. Harry Tichbourne, Goderich,
and Miss Annie Kennedy left on Fri-
day morning by 'bus for Winnipeg,
where they will visit at the borne of
their . brother, Mrs. Alex. Kennedy,
Mr. Thos. Inglis is busy these times
gettingA-eady to.put up a barn on the
farm he purchased recently from Mr.
Robt. Hutchison, Mr. and Mrs. Ing-
lis purpose- moving to this farm this
falLrs. Andrew Fox returned to her
home here on Thursday last. Mrs.
Fox has not been very well for the
past few months, and Miss Isabel Fox
R.N., of Kincardine Hospital Staff, has
been nursing her at St. Georges for
the past two weeks, Miss Isabel and
Miss Lettie Fox of Hamilton, spent,
the week-end 'here.
Miss Lenore Adams,of Hespeler,
had her . tonsils reomved in Wingham
Hospital last Wednesday.
Mr. Cecil and Mr. James Falconer,
accompanied Mr. A. E. Purdon and
Mr. Hector Purdon, Lucknow, to
Point \Clark on Thursday, where the
latter is erecting a summer cottage,
Mr. and Mrs. Carman Farrier, New
Toronto, and Miss Winnifred Farrier,
Toronto, spent the week-end with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Farrier.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lettner and
children of Toronto, spent the week-
end at the home of her brother, Mr.
John Boyle and other relatives in this
district.

making the cement foundation and cis-.
tern for Mr. Myles St. Marrie's new
cottage, and putting in the cistern and
foundation for Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Robinson's new kitchen and garage.
Mr. Walter Brown of Welland, who
has purchased Mr. Robt. J. Ross' farm
on Con. 3, Kinloss, arrived here one
clay last week, and has been working
at fences. Mrs: Brown, Mr. and Mrs.
Orval Mitchell, and their two children
will move here within a few weeks.
The children of-S.S. Kinloss are each
having the tubercular test this week
with the district school nurse in atten-
dance.
Mr. and Mrs. Bagg and daughter,
Miss Hazel 'of Unionville, spent the
week-end at the horn eof their daugh-
ter, Mrs. E. H. Groskorth,
Mr. and Mrs.• Leonard Coyne, who
have been visiting Robinson relatives
in East Wawanosh and Belgrave for
the past two weeks, returned to their
home in Windsor on Monday.
Splendid crowds gathered at the Un-
ited Church here on Sunday for the
Anniversary services, Rev. W. J.
Watt, of Whitechurch, was the special
speaker for the day, and gave two
able discourses, speaking on the
Church and its task, in the morning,
and the Yearning God, in the evening,
In the morning, Mr. Murray 'Plunkett
of Bayfield and . Centralia, sang, two
solos, 'The Lord's Prayer' and "The
Bells are Ringing', accompanied by
Mrs. Plunkett at the piano, and in the
evening, th'e clioir,.under the able lead-
ership of Mr. E. H.Groskorth, With
Mr, Groskorth at 'the piano, rendered
special anthems, Rev. 'G. M. Newton,
pastor of the 'church was also present
and assisted Mr. Watt. Of interest to
many was the Hammond Organ elec-
tric attachment at the piano, used by
Mr. Groskorth during the services.
The service in the Presbyterian
Church was withdrawn, and anniver-
sary services will he held in Langside
eluttch on June 19.
