1949, for the supply of coal s.nd coke
for the Dominion Buildings through-
out the Province of Ontario.

and conditions attached can be ob-
tained from the Purchasing Agent,
Department of-Public Works, Ottawa,
and the Supervising Architect, 36
Adelaide St., East, Toronto, Ont.
Tenders should be made on the
forms supplied by the Department and
in accordance with departmental speci-
fications and conditions attached there-
to. Coal dealer's licence numbers must
be given when tendering.
The Department reserves the right
to demand from any successful tender-
er, before awarding the order, a secur-
ity deposit in the form of a certified
cheque on a chartered bank M Can-
ada, made payable to the order of the
Honourable the Minister of Public
Works, equal to 10 per cent of the
amount of the tender or Bearer Bonds
of the Dominion of Canada or of the
Canadian National Railway Company
and its constituent companies uncon-
ditionally guaranteed as to principal
and interest by the Dominion of Can-
ada, or the aforementioned bonds, and
a certified cheque, if required to make
up an odd amount.
Such security will serve as a guar-
antee for the proper fulfilment of the
contract.

CLERK HEMMED
U Rev. E. Llewelyn Roberts, rector of
St. Thomas Anglican Church, Owen
Sound, for the last 11 years dropped
dead in his church on Tuesday night,
as he prepared for the spring meeting
there of the Grey Deanery. He was 67.
Born at Bagnor, Wales, he was edu-
cated in a boy's boarding school and
studied theology under a private tutor.
In 1912 he came to Canada, and was
active in the work of the Anglican
Church in Preston. He completed his
education here and was ordained in
1921 at Grace Church, Brantford.
His first pariSh was at Ayr, Other
charges included Cargill and-Pinker-
ton in Bruce County. Port Rowan, St.
Williams and. Jirah, Wingham and in
Owen Sound,
He is survived by his widow, the
former Mrs. Dorothy Meades, a native
of England whom he married in sSag-
inaw, ,Mich., in 1928, and by a stepson,
Gerald Meades, of Owen Sound. An
only child, he has no other living rela-
tives. His mother died the clay of his
ordination.
Fordwich School Principal
Resigns After Seven Years
Mr. Joseph A. Higgins, .principal of
Fordwich Public School for the past
seven years, has resigned that posi-
tion and has accepted the principal-
ship of Drumbo Public School at a
considerable advance in salary...Before
coming to Fordwich, Joe taught at
Lakelet school for fiaur years. Both
Mr. and Mrs. Higgins will be greatly
missed .in the community!' Joe has
been active in sport ever since coming
here. being a member of local hockey
and softball teams, his activity in the
latter being curtailed this season due
I to an appendix operation at Easter,
