Giving Up Gardening By 3. E. Stoakley I regret to announce that because of ill .health, I'll have to quit gardening and do with less wealth, , I have got so crippled I can hardly go, When I sold produce I tried to use all alike, And I hardly made enough to take even a hike, I sold 'most of the garden land for building lots, And won't need so many tools and pots. There is a lot of walking the goods to ' deliver, Years ago, I could do it without a quiver. But as years roll by and our step gets short, And we are glad to pull into any old port. I don't think gardeners are paid too much for their goods: The garden produces some very good foods. It seems natural to think the other fellow gets the best deal, But if he does, I'll never squeal. I would like to see all nay customers once more, If I didn't get chased away from their door. Some keep a dog for their own pro- tection, But as far as I am concerned I have no objection. Some dogs bark are worse than their bite, But I would just as leave meet them in daylight. We fan go fishing for trout, pike and carp, When we get back we can eat fish and pick on the harp. I air fond of fishing, when the fish bite, And catch suckers far.into the night. They tell us to eat plenty of fish, it is good for the brain, So perhaps I had better go fishing again. I have heard there are suckers born every minute, 5WE "ARE AGENTS - for COUNTER CHECK BOOKS PRINTED GUMMED TAPE MADE,,ElY cf.,,tafv,d, PAPER satinets I Styles for every business .
