erich visited on Sunday at the home
of their aunt, Miss Christena Laidlaw,
and with other West and East Waw-
anosh relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. -Chas. Falconer' who
spent the past two weeks with his par_
ents here, returned to Kincardine on
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Simmons,
baby Nancy, of London, and Miss
Loiuse Martin of Kincardine spent the
week-end with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Martin.
Janet and Donald Gaunt, children of
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gaunt, had

and Perey. spent Sunday at the home
of her brother, Mr. Clifford Purdon of

Mr, Lorne Johnston who has been
in Westminster Hospital, London, for
the past two months, was able to xe,
turn home on Thursday last.
During the Sunday School service in
the United Church on Sunday, Rev. G.
M. Newton showed slides portraying
the beautiful pictures painted around
the Crucifixion and Ressurrection stor-
ies, and the Junior Choir song "The
Old Rugged Cross",
Miss Winnifred Farrier of Toronto
and Mr. and Mrs, Carmen Farrier of
New Toronto are holidaying with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Farrier.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Farrier and
Marion, of Wingham, spent Sunday
there.
Mr. Roy McGee; To.ronto, spent the
week-end with his father, Mr, Henry
,McGee and Gordon. ,
Mr. and Mrs, John Ryan and Leroy
spent Sunday with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs, James Johnston of Goderich.
Mr. and Mrs. Alec Nethery of Ham-
ilton, Miss Gwendoline Irwin, Lon-
don, and Miss Audrey Irwin, Wing-
ham spent the week-en with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. He son Irwin.
Mr, Earle Goyeau of Detroit spent
a few days last week at the home of
his sister, Mrs. Aldin Purdon.
Miss Florence Beecroft of Toronto
spent the week-end at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Beecroft.
Mr. John MacMillan was shipping
cattle on Friday,
Mr. John Beecroft of East Wawan-
osh celebrated his 80th birthday on
Friday last. The family held a family
dinner in the evening, with Mr. and
Mrs. Melville Beecroft and sons David
and John of Otterville; Mr. and Mrs.
Hector Hamilton and son Alec of
Gorrie and Mrs. W. Dow and family,
present. Later the immediate relatives
gatheied and the evening was spent in
chat 'and reminiscing. His many

The regular monthly meeting of
Brick United Church was held lest
Wednesday at the home of Mrs. 'John
Mason with a good attendance, the
President, Mrs. Herson Irwin, presid-
ing. The Scripture lesson was taken
by Mrs, Dow and Mrs. Prank Thomp-
son and Mrs. Cecil Coultes led in
the discussion the theme "Christ is
Risen." Mrs, Leask McGee led in
prayer for the elleCeS$ of the Mission-
ary work. and for the missionaries,
and Mrs, Moores was the special
speaker for the occasion, The meeting
was closed with the benediction,
Mr. and Mrs. George Taylor and
family of Exeter spent the week-end
at the home of his brother, Mr, Law-
rence Taylor.
Mr. and Mrs. Relison Falconer
spent tile week-end in London.
Quite a number of telephone lines
in this community have been out of
order during the holiday week-end.
Mr. Elmer Shiell of London, spent
the week-end at the home of his par-
ents, Mr, and Mrs. R. M. Shell.
Sacrament Service will be held in
the United Church here on Sunday.

very ill and under the doctor's care,

Mr. Adam McP,urney of Kingston,
is spending his holidaays at his home
in E. Wawanosh.
Miss Myrtle Yuill of St. Catharines,
and another teacher from Harriston,
and Miss Elaine Walsh of Belgrave,
left on Tuesday to spend their holi-
days at Washington, D. C.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward McBurney
and son. Carman, visited on Saturday
with Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Hardie of
Turnberry Mr. Hardie has been very
ill with pneumonia during the past
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lettner and
family of Toronto, spent the week-end
at the home of her brother. Mr. John
Boyle.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thompson and
daughter, Alice, and Mr, and Mrs.
Claire Thompson and daughter, Janet
of Tilson burg, spent the week-end
with their uncles, Messrs. Mason and
Roy Robinson and with Belgrave
relatives.
Mr, and Mrs. Parker Campbell and
family of Wingham, Mr. and Mrs.
Fleming Johnston and son, Wayne,. of
Bluevale. spent SuhdaY with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mason.
Mr. George Fisher is laid up again
with .another attack of the flu,
Mr. and Mrs. J: F. MacLean spent
Friday at ethe home of their daughter,
Mrs. S. H. Cross of Walkerton, and
Miss Helen Cross returned with them
to spend her holidays there. Mr. Earl
MacLean who had been visiting in
Walkerton also returned home with
them to spend a, day here, before re-
turning to his Mime in Listowel,
and Mrs. Ira MacLean and family of
Wroxeter visited there on Sunday and
Donna MacLean stayed to spend the
week here. Murray MacLean had his
tonsils and adenoids out in Wingham
Hospital last Friday.
Mrs. J. G. Gillsepie returned home
from Toronto on Thursday last, after
spending a few days with Miss Jessie
Gillespie and other relatives.
Mr, William Patterson of Toronto,
sent a few days last week with Mr. F.
McK; Paterson.
Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth Hoffman
and daughter, Sharon, of Toronto,
spent the week-end at the home of her
brother, Mr. Robert Adams.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Farrier and
family of Kincardine. visited at the
home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. W,
R. Farrier on Monday.
Rev, and Mrs. W. S. Sutherland and
Angus, are spending a few days this
week with his mother, Mrs Sutherland,
at her home near Cornwall.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas, Wood and son,
Billie, and Mr. and Mrs. Smayle, of
Seaforth, spent Friday with Mr. and
Mrs,. Gershom Johnston and Miss
Alice Johnston spent the week-end
with her sister, Mrs. Ed. Robinson of
Auburn.

Belgrave Corn. Athletic Assotiation
The annual meeting of the Belgrave
Corinne/thy Athletic 'Association was
held in the club rooms, The inittutes
of the previous meeting were teed by
Thomas Wade.

Treasurer's report was given by Lau-
rence Vannan, He, also outlined the
procedure to get the government grant.
Jack Wilson was appointed titate-
keeper for labour on- the arena. 'Mr.
Wilson will donate .a. trophy for the
winning team of the local ball'club.

SPRING ACTIVITIES
The Huron County Old Boys Asso-
ciation of Toronto under the leader-
ship of Mr. K. C. Stanbury, 1949 Pres-
ident, are planning events for the near
future.

ing elected a committee of 42 mem-
bers. Executive officers were subse-
quently elected from this committee
