OBITUARY
Andrew R. Agar
Andrew R. Agar, 80, a former resi-
dent of this district, died suddenly at
his home in Mount Forest. Besides
his widow he leaves one son, William
M. West, and two daughters, (May),
Mrs. Robert Patterson, and (Hazel)
Mrs. Stanley Radler, Mount Forest.
Services were held on Saturday and
interment made in Mount Forget cent-
etery,

The regular meeting of the A.Y.P.
was held at the home of Mr, and
Ctrs, Wm. Brydges on Thursday
evening. The meeting opened with the
pinging of a hymn followed by prayer.
Joan Brydges read the scripture pas-
!age.
Jean .Cartwright invited the mem-
bers to her home for the neat meet-
ing. Frank Nesbitt is to prepare the
Log Book. Joan Brydges and Harry
irydges were appointed programme
committee. The meeting closed with
rk hymn and prayer by Rev, Header-
sox The Log Book" was read by
David Briscoe, A duet, "The Teddy
Bear's Picnic was sung by Beverley
Nethery and Tommy Brydges. Jean
Cartwright then conducted several

night, Rev, Newton of Whitechurch,

Christmas .Excitement. at
Amanda Armstrong, Josiah's wife,
played by Elsie Gibson; Nellie Arm-
strong who had been driven from
home, Eileen Rea; Laura Armstrong
who was woor weak sinner ,Shirley
Haase! Jonah Jones, Josiah's farm
helper, played by Wells Barlow; Col-
onel Barnaby Strutt who had just vis-
ited Timbucktoo, was played by Mer-
wood Smith and his wife Mrs. Barna-
by Strutt was played by Jean Kitchen.
The Strutt's had an .adopted daughter
called Jurior, who was played by Eil-
een Willoughby. Squire Harcourt
caused all the trouble when he came
forth with the mortgage on Josiah's
farm, which had been due for quite
some time, the squire had a son called
Harry, who was the squire's "pro-
fligate son."
Dick Randall, Who is Nellie's lover
goes out to seek his fortune. Dick
was played by Ken Smith. Vern Wil-
loughby acted Tom Bishop's part as a
travelling merchant and turns out to

A Dressmaking Course opened on
Monday in the Forester's Hall spon-
sored by the Women's Institute. Miss
Creyke of the Women's Institute
Branch, Department of Agriculture, is
conducting the course which will last

paring material, placing marking and
altering patterns, methods of making
buttonholes and pockets and general
dressntalunk.

Miss Eileen moved to Toronto on
Wednesday (today), Where'they have
purchased a home.
Mr, Ross Taylor has trapped sev,
enty-three foxes in about two weeks.
He will receive a three dollar bounty
on each pelt from the county.

The Sixth Line Farm Forum met
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Telford
Cook with an attendance of twenty-
three. In the, discussion entitled "I
see by' the paper" we thought that
our daily paper gives a fair amount of
publicity to farm events and new Ag-
ricultural developments, We feel
that our own local weeklies could do
a better job if we gave them more
information, Contests romances were
enjoyed under the leadership of Tel-
ford Cook and Tommy Thompson.
