While lie never bas appeared a very robust man, his build not being of the rugged type, yet he has always shown the cheerful disposition and manly bearing which -are taken as a further sign that our Sovereign was physically fit and en- joying the best of health, .The stress and strain, and ovcr- work, which is the traditional lot of Royalty, apparently have taken their toll, The doctors suggest that his pres- ent ailment, an obstruction of circula- tion in the leg arteries, has probably been caused, or at least a',,;ravatksd, by the heavy strain he has enclurA since he succeeded his brother on the throne twelve years ago. All can read- ily understand that such a trouble could readily be brought on by king- ly duties ,such as standing on his, feet for long periods of time taking salutes while reviewing the ,different services, walking for long distances reviewing the forces, and other tiresome, leg- straining jobs such as visiting hospitals and bestowing honours at an investi- ture, All Canadians, and all Common- Wealth citizens, will earnestly hope that His Majesty will have a speedy and a complete recovery. It is good news that his doctors report his general health is good and they expect his 'ail- ment will yield to rest and treatment. King George VI by his' exemplary life and high devotion to the ardour duties of kingship has won the lasting affec- tion of all his subjects. May he long live and reign Over this great Com- monwealth of nations. * * * WEEKLY THOUGHT Even if you can't do much, do :the best that you Can to help along any good or i'vorthy. cause.
