- A meeting of the Ehst Wawanosh
Federation was held Thursday even-
ing, Oct. 28th, at the home of Mr.
Frank Nesbit, with 11.mernbers of the
executive and directorate present
The minutes of the Oct. 18th and
also a report of the -annual- meeting
were read by the secretarY. On mot-
ion of J. H. Campbell and A. Purdin
the minutes were adopted as 'read.
Moved by D. Leggatt, seconded by
Wm. Henry that the Federation don-
ate $10.00 to the Belgrave School Fair.
Moved by S. -P. Hall ahail, - seconded
by J. H. Campbell that we make a fur-
ther donation of $10.00 to the Bel-
grave School Fair Board for next year.

The Federation have made arrange-
ments with the Township Council to
have the use of the spray outfit for
the purpose of treating cattle for lice,
as soon as they come off the pasture.
They are asking that interested per-
sons get in touch with their local Dir-
ector. The cost will be about 15c per
head.

Forum Holds First Meeting
The Sixth line Farm Forum met on
Monday evening for the first meeting
of the season at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Melvin Taylor, with an attend-
ance of 26. It was• decided that a far-
mer's wife needs to have a genuine
liking for farm life to take an interest
in her husband's work, much more so
than city wives, Young people should
have an education for living as well as
an education for making money.
Bud Scott was elected secretary.
Contest and predicaments were enjoy-
ed. Lunch wa served starting a 'new
season off very successfully.
Next meeting will be held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Cook
with Ivan Wightman as leader.
MORRIS COUNCIL
The council met in the Township
Hall on Nov. 1st, with all the memb-
ers present except C. R. Coultes. The
Reeve presided. The minutes of the
last meeting were read and adopted
on motion of Sam Alcock and Baillie
Parrott,
Moved by Baillie Parrott, seconded
by Sam Alcock that the Court of Re-
vision be closed.—Carried.
Moved by Wm. Peacock, seconded
by Baillie Parrott that the contract for
plowing the first and second conces-
sions of Morris be given to Arthur
Ruttan at $5.00 per hour. The con-
tractor to supply his own helper.—

be given to the Wingham Horse Show

Gun Club Shoot—The members of
the Wingham Gun Club held a shoot
at the ranges on the race track
grounds on Thanksgiving Day and the
following prizes were awarded: Event

Church Notes—Wingham District of
the Methodist Church will be organiz-
ed along the lines of Layman's Mis-
sionary Mavement. The preliminary
Committee consists of John Kerr
(Convener), D. C. ,Taylor, John Joynt,
Thos. E.,Wilson and W. H. Kerr, A
convention for the purposes of organ-
ization will probably be held in the
near future.
Whitechurch-The National Thanks-
giving supper held in the Methodist
Church last Thursday evening, under
the auspices of the Ladies' Aid Society
was largely attended. Supper was ser-
ved from six to eight o'clock-, by wait-
resses dressed in costumes represent-
ing the different countries Whose col-
ors decorated the various tables. Mr.
Holmes gave numerous selections on
ris gramophone during the meal and
after supper the following program
was given: Several selections by the
Wingham Methodist Church choir,
solos by Mr. F. Hill arid Mrs. R. Beat-
tie, concertina selections by Mr. Wm,
McDonald, recitations on Canada by
Miss Barock, and addresses by Dr.
Redmond, on England; Geo. Spotton
on Ireland; Rev. .G. P. Duncan on
Scotland and Mr. Cameron on Canada.
Morris—Messrs. Richard Armstrong
and -F. Embury„ the well-known hun-
ters, are away for their annual supply
of deer in Northern Ontario, The Nic-
holson Lime Works have closed down
for the season after a good run. Tax
Collector Proctor has commenced his
duties for 1908 and has a big job ahead
of him as the roll-calls for the large
sum of $20,592, The building of the
new steel bridge, 5th. line, is largely
responsible for the kip -ease in taxes
this year.
Personals—Mr. and Mrs. W. G.
Patterson visited at Kincardine over
Sunday. Mr. Thos. Field has returned
home after spending two weeks in the
north country, deer hunting. Mr. and
Mrs. A. J. Malcolm visited in Mitch-
ell on the holiday. Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Magee spent Thanksgiving in
Ethel and Brussels. Mr. and Mrs.
Chas. Routledge of Seaforth, spent the
Thanksgiving holiday with Mr. and
Mrs. Jas, Anderson.

Fox-Pocock—A pretty wedding was
solemnized at the Dovercourt Baptist
Church, Toronto, on Saturday, Nov.
10th, when Margaret M., daughter of
Elizabeth Pocock of Wingham,
was married to Mr. Fred G. Fox of
Toronto, by the Rex'. Mr. Mitchell.
Fraser Godkin—A pretty Thanks-
giving wedding took place in St. Paul's
Church, Wingham, on Monday, Nov.
12th, when Miss Ilannall Elizabeth
Alice Godkin, daughter, of Mr. and
Mrs. James Godkin, of Zetland, was
united in marriage to Mr. Addison
H. Fraser, Morris, son of Customs
Officer W, IL and Mrs. Fraser, of
Wingham, by the Rev..Mr. Snell.

FIFTEEN YEARS AGO—
Sbewin-Alton—The home of David
Alton, con. 13, West Wawanosh, was
the scene of a pretty autumn wedding
on Saturday, Nov. 11th, when his
younger daughter, Miss Mary Cather-
