The Community Hall was the scene
of a pleas= social function on Fri-
day night when a large number of
relatives and friends gathered to hon-
or Mr. John Campbell Orvis and his
bride, the former Norma Ada Ahnetta
Hall of Wingham, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Hall, Bluevale. A
complimentary address was read by
Fleming Johnston and a purse of
money presented to which the young
couple made a suitable reply, Lunch
was served and dancing enjoyed to
music supplied by Tiffin's Orchestra.
Misses Wilda and Roma Brecken-
ridge have been interested members of
the Jr. Girls Clubwork during the
year, and as a result Wilda won' eight
firsts and six seconds mid garden
special at the Brussels Fair for garden
vegetables and baking, in the Wom-
en's Institute special for Club dresses,
senior, Roma won 1st, and Wilda
third in the Garden Brigade work at
Teeswater, Roma Breckenridge, Blue-
vale and Leona Johnston, 'Walton tied
in 1st. place for the Counties of fur-
an and Bruce.

Held Rally Day
Rally Day Service was observed in
the United Church on Sunday morn-
ing, with the superintendent, W. J.
Johnston, presiding, Phyllis Hamilton
and Mac Smith read the Scripture -
passages, Miss Margaret Curtis told
the story "The Llama and the Silver
Bird." Shirley and Lester Burden sang
the duet, "Have thine own way Lord."
The address on the subject, "God's
Tapestry" was given by Rev, J, A.
Burden.

Rev, Leland C. Jorgensen conducted
Anniversary services in the Presbyter-
ian Church at Exeter on Sunday and
Rev, Donald Sinclair of Exeter,
preached here and at Belmore, The

of special meetings conducted by Rev.
John Honeyman, superintendent of the
London Bible Institute. He spoke on
the subject of '"The Conversion of
Paul" based on Gal. 2-20. Mrs, Archie
Parker and Miss Janet Robertson sang

anthem. All joined in a song service
accompanied by the organ with Mrs.
J, C. Higgins presiding. Mrs. Jorgen-
sen with the coronet and Mr. Honey-
man playing the violin. Everyone is in-
vited to attend the services,
