Mr. and Airs. Medford The regular meeting' of the W.Ar.s, family spent Sunday with was held in the United Church. Mrs. Kenie's, H. Wheeler was in the chair to con•

to attend the Sectional meeting at
Gorrie, Mrs, Martin and Mrs, Ander-
sokto be the delegates. The Christmas
cards have arrived for sale. Mrs.
Chaniney gave a Temperance reading
and' Mrs, Moores made plans for the
Baby Band, Mrs, Harold Proctor was
in the chair for the worship service,
the theme being, "The Word of
Truth," she was .assisted by Mrs.
John Coultes, Mrs, Stewart Procter,
Mrs, R, Coultes, Mrs, ,John Coultes
very ably presented the 2nd, Oapter
of "West of the Gorges" telling the
story of Rev, Harold Pee, first woman
to be ordained by Szechwan Church
of Christ in China. Several facts on
Chinese Missionaries were given by
different members, Prayers for Cbie-
ese Missionaries were offered, The
Benediction was given by Mrs. H,
Procter.
Women's Association
The Woman's Association „followed
the Mrs. Fred Cook read
the scripture lesson and Mrs. W, J.
Moores led ill prper, Twenty-five
dollars was donated to send parcels
from Toronto on to Europe. Twenty-
five dollars was donated toward a pro-
jector for the Church. Plans were
completed to hold a Bazaar later this
month, Conveners of committees were
appointed as follows: Fish Pond, Mrs.
Stewart Procter; Aprons, Mrs. J. M.
.Coultes, Baking, Mrs. J. C. Procter;
Miscellaneous, Mrs. W. J. Moores.
Tea, Mrs. Nicholson, Mrs. J.
Wheeler, Mrs. Fred Cook and Mrs.
Hopper. Decorating committee, Mrs.
John Anderson, Mrs. R. J. MacKen-
zie. The. meeting closed with the
Benediction by the President.

Church on Sunday, October 1.7th. The
service was opened .with the Call , to
Worship. A prayer was said in uni-
son. The scripture was read by Evel-
yn Cook. The business was read by

Bazaar and Tea
The Woman's Association of the
r_11 United Church are holding a Bazaar
I and Afternoon Tea on Wednesday
afternoon, at 3 o'clock, October 27th.
- There will be a Fish Pond, Apron and
Baking Sale. A special invitation is ex-
tended to all the ladies of the com-
munity.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Mallott, Mr,
and Mrs, Garnet Mallott and children,
John and Judy, of Tottam, were week-
end guests„,of Rev. W. J. and Mrs,
Moores.
Mrs. Hugh D. Taylor of Toronto,
Executive Secretary of Overseas Mis-
sions of, the W. M. S., was the guest
of °Mrs. W. J. Moores.
Misses Margaret Procter and Mur-
iel Anderson were in London on Sat-
urday attending the W. A. S. S. 0.

ed the International Plowing Match
at Lindsay and visited at South River,
The October meeting of the. Wo-
men's Institute was held at the home
of Mrs. R, J. Woods on Friday after-
noon with 10 ladies present. The roll
call toOk the form of an exchange of
plants. A letter of thanks for a dona-
tion to the Wingham Hospital was
read. Mrs. G. McPherson was 'appoint-
ed as delegate to the Area Convent-
ion to be held in London this month,
Ml's. Wm, Rutherford and Mrs, Nor-
man McDonald were appointed as
leaders for the project, "Sleeping
Garments" if the required number of
girls are interested in taking the
Short Course. Mrs, Fred McQuillan,
convener of Agriculture and Canadian
Industry had charge of the subject
and' a very interesting and informa-
tive paper on Bee-Keeping written by
Mr. T. J, Salkeld, was read by Mrs,
G. McPherson. Mrs. T. J. Todd read
an article on Salt and Mrs, E. W.
Rice, a poem on "New Every Morn-
bog." At the conclusion lunch was
served with Mrs, T. J, Todd and
Mrs, Gordon as hostesses.
Miss Zona Newton, who has com-
pleted her course as a student nurse
at the Sick Children's Hospital, Tor-
onto, is a visitor with her parents,
Rev. M. G. and Mrs. Newton.
