FORTY YEARS AGO
Fitch - Higgins — "Pleasant View
Farm," on the third line of Morris,
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Hig-
gins, witnessed a happy event on Wed-
tesday of last week, when their dau-
ghter, Miss Effie, was united in mar-
riage to Mr. Arthur Fitch, of Howick
township. Rev. G. W. W. Rivers of-
ficiated.

ton, visited her brother, Mr. E. Lewis,

Jacklin, who is at present a tenant of
W. H. Kerr's farm, North boundary
of Grey, has purchased the 200-acre
farm of W. R. Belden, Paying, $10,000
for it.

piping and dancing at the Ripley Fall

McKinnon - Howson—On Saturday,
September 26th, the marriage of Ada

J. Howson of this town, to Donald
Osborn McKinnon, publisher of "The
Canadian Manufacturer," Toronto,
was solemnized at the home of the
bride's parents, with Rev. W. G. How-
son officiating,
Beattie - Mason—A quiet wedding
was solemnized at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. 'Geo. Mason, Josephine St.,
on Wednesday, September 30th, when
their eldest daughter, Miss Olive 0.,
was united in the bonds of wedlock
to Mr. Robert Beattie. Rev. W, G.
Howson officiated.
The Wingham Gun Club—The
Wingham Gun Club was organized at
a meeting held one evening last week.
Officers were elected as follows:—

membership and weekly practice will
