Jimmie and Thos, George, returned
home from Toronto on Sunday.

were guests of Mr. and Mrs, Jas. Ed-

Several from here .attended Anni-
versary Services at the United Church,
Wroxeter, on Sunday, when Rev. Geo,
Wylie of Otterville, was guest preach-
er.
Messrs, Hartwell and Roy Strong
who have been exhibiting their Short-
horns at a number of district Fairs,
have been successful in winning many
prizes. Mr. Gordon Brown who has
been showing his Leicester sheep, has
also been a prize winner.
Mrs. J. Chapman, her son, Mr.
Gordon Chapman and Mrs. Chapman
and two children of Britton, were vis-
itors with Mr. and Mrs, Arthur Chap-
man on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bower Farrish and
Kenneth, visited Mr. and Mrs. Bud
Stewart at Wroxeter, on Sunday..
Mr, and Mrs. Lawrence Short, Ron-
ald and Carol of Fergus, called on
friends here on Sunday. Mrs. Isabel
Earngey is visiting with her son, Mr.
Joe and Mrs. Earngey at Hanover.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wade visited
friends in Galt over the week-end, and
attended the Galt Fair on Saturday.
A number from this community at-
tended the Listowel Fair on Thursday
and the Harriston Fair on Friday.
Miss Beryl Bennett is attending the
Wingham High School this year, tak-
ing Grade XIII work. Miss Mar:en
Downey is a student at the Listowel
High School.
Our sympathy is extended to Mrs.
Fred Hyndman, whose father, 'Mr.
John Gowdy passed away last Tues-
day in the Wingham General Hospital,
Funeral service was held on Thursday
at the Wroxeter United Church and
ieterment was in the cemetery at Mc-
Intosh Church.
Mrs. Etta Day has returned goo:
spending a week with Mrs. Den Ker-
win and other friends at Clifford.
Mrs. Everett Spading, Listowel, vis-
ited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Ferguson on Wednesday last,

Featherston s King
A lovely September wedding was
solemnized in Morningsille Presbyter-
Church on Saturday, September 25th,
at 7 pin., when Isobel Margaret, dau-
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Prank King
was united in marriage to Robert
Wylie Featherston, son m f Mr. H.
Featherston and the late, Mrs. Feather-
ston of Orilli.a.
The ceremony was performed by
Rev. W. L. L. Lawrence, Mr. Keith
Hodgson, organist of the 'church, play-
ed the wedding music Arta Miss Ewan-
ore. LaRose, Toronto, 0010, sang
"Because" and the "Lord'S Prayer."
The church was 'decorated with bas-

Miss Lorene King, 'Toronto, sister
of the bride, was mairl of honour. Miss
Marion King, Gorrie, Miss 'Mae La-
Rose, Toronto and Mrs. Elsie 'Watson,
'Toronto, were bridesnn.als, all were
dressed in 'harmonizing brocaded taf-
feta, with full skirts, with fitted waist-
lines with side bustles in colors of
orchid, turquoise blue, shell pink amid
canary yellow with matching head-
dress and carried nosegays of yellow
and pink roses. The groomsman was
Mr. John Featherston, Toronto, bro-
ther of the groom. Ushers were Mr.
Jim Colquhoun, Mr. sill Watson and
Mr. Howard Featherston; cousin of
the groom.
A reception was held at the Edith
Ward tea rooms,. Toronto, the bride's
mother receiving, dressed in sky blue
crepe with black accessories.
The groom's gift to the bride was
a chest of silver.
For a wedding trip to Montreal and!
Ottawa, the bride wore a rsky blue
gabardine suit with black accessories

tinguished visitor at the meeting of
the Gorrie LO.B.A. on Tuesday even-
ing.

ited her brother, Mr. Wm. Corbett and
Mrs. Corbett last week.

keeps us busy togging up,
The 'United Church Sunday School
joined in with McIntosh and held their
picnic Saturday afternoon on the
School grounds, there was fun for
Old and young, a grand day,
McIntosh held their Anniversary on
Sunday with Rev, Facey of Teeswater,
geust speaker.
The Missionary meeting of the Un-
ited Church was held on Wednesday
evening last at Mrs. Rutherford's.
Minnie Jeffrey visited Miss Mary
Darling and Mrs. Roy Rutherford ee
Monday.
Mrs. Robt. Nickel spent Wednesday
afternoon with Mrs, James Darling.
Mildmay Fire Brigade were :ailed
out on Thursday afternoon to the
h6me of Mr. and Mrs, McWhinney,
at the old Hamilton home. A blaze
started at the back of the house,
but was brought under control.
Mr. Jack Reid held a successful
woodbee on Saturday.
A shower was held on Friday even-
ing at Lane's School for Mr. and Mrs.
Lyle Fitch.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruckhurst of Tor-
ontot, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Harry

Low Rail Fares For Thanksgiving
Special low rail fares between all
stations in Canada and to border
points in the United States over
Thanksgiving Day holiday were an-
nounced by J. A. Brass, Chairman
of the Canadian Passenger Associa-
tion. The reduced rail fares will be on
the one-way first class and coach class,
fare and a third for the round trip,
The tickets will be good going front
12,00 noon, Friday, October 8, until
2,00 p.m. Monday, October 11th. For
the return trip they will be honored
leaving destination not later than
midnight, Tnesday, OctOber 12th.,
