Mrs, Eldon McInnes and little sons, Jimmie and Thos, George, returned home from Toronto on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jas, Barton, Drayton, were guests of Mr. and Mrs, Jas. Ed- wards on Sunday, Several from here .attended Anni- versary Services at the United Church, Wroxeter, on Sunday, when Rev. Geo, Wylie of Otterville, was guest preach- er. Messrs, Hartwell and Roy Strong who have been exhibiting their Short- horns at a number of district Fairs, have been successful in winning many prizes. Mr. Gordon Brown who has been showing his Leicester sheep, has also been a prize winner. Mrs. J. Chapman, her son, Mr. Gordon Chapman and Mrs. Chapman and two children of Britton, were vis- itors with Mr. and Mrs, Arthur Chap- man on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bower Farrish and Kenneth, visited Mr. and Mrs. Bud Stewart at Wroxeter, on Sunday.. Mr, and Mrs. Lawrence Short, Ron- ald and Carol of Fergus, called on friends here on Sunday. Mrs. Isabel Earngey is visiting with her son, Mr. Joe and Mrs. Earngey at Hanover. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wade visited friends in Galt over the week-end, and attended the Galt Fair on Saturday. A number from this community at- tended the Listowel Fair on Thursday and the Harriston Fair on Friday. Miss Beryl Bennett is attending the Wingham High School this year, tak- ing Grade XIII work. Miss Mar:en Downey is a student at the Listowel High School. Our sympathy is extended to Mrs. Fred Hyndman, whose father, 'Mr. John Gowdy passed away last Tues- day in the Wingham General Hospital, Funeral service was held on Thursday at the Wroxeter United Church and ieterment was in the cemetery at Mc- Intosh Church. The groomsman was Mr. John Featherston, Toronto, bro- ther of the groom. Ushers were Mr. Jim Colquhoun, Mr. sill Watson and Mr. Howard Featherston; cousin of the groom. A reception was held at the Edith Ward tea rooms,. Toronto, the bride's mother receiving, dressed in sky blue crepe with black accessories. The groom's gift to the bride was a chest of silver. Mr. and Mrs. Bruckhurst of Tor- ontot, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Press the past week, Low Rail Fares For Thanksgiving Special low rail fares between all stations in Canada and to border points in the United States over Thanksgiving Day holiday were an- nounced by J. A. Brass, Chairman of the Canadian Passenger Associa- tion.
