Geography 45 concerns the natura
wealth of Canada and its conservation.
These classes should be of interest to
citizens as well as to teachers who
seek degrees or Permanent First Class
Certificates, People in the neighbour-
hood of Wingham are also fortunate
in having other university centres not
too far away. In Clinton, English 20
and 21 and either English 30 or 40
begin October 2nd, at the Collegiate
Institute. In Hanover, History 20 and
either History 31 or 44 start on Oct-
ober 2nd., in the High School.

111•1111.1 MEOW Universities are big businesses in
Canada. Students equalling in numbers
the population of an average Ontario
city are preparing to move into the
university centres. Many of these are
still veterans but for the first time in
several years students with no service
background have free access to higher
educational opportunities. For a num-
ber of years priorities in universities
had to be offered to those people who
had lost time in some form of national
service. Now the numbers of such ire
declining. At the University of West-
ern Ontario, for example, it is expect-
ed thiit the numbers will decline from
over one thousand to six hundred and
fifty.
In addition to freer access, further
opportunities are eiVvn to students I.))
the University of Western Ontario
which has established centres i om
Toront.. on the east to Sault Ste. Marie
on the west, and as far north as
Owen Sound and Sudbury. Instead of
going to the University, teachers end
others now find educational facilities
coming to them. In an age when furth-
er training is important this is a boon.
In Wineham, during the coming sea-
son, two classes in Geography will le
offered locally. Ile inaiin. Saturday,
SepteMber 25th. at 12.30 p.m., in the
Public School, Professor N. L. Nichol..
son of the Department of Geography
will offer ii(oarapliy 20. rids cour-t,
