Louttit—Halliday
A quiet but pretty wedding was sol-
emnized amid a setting of gladioli and
fern, at the home of the 'bride's par-
ents, Mr, and Mrs. A, Halliday, Clear-
view Farm, 8th line, Howick, at high
noon on Saturday ,September 11, when
their only daughter, Agnes Norene
Mae became the bride of Gordon Nel-
son Louttit, younger son of Mr. and
Mrs, Nelson Louttit, Wroxeter,
The ceremony was performed by
Rev. Martin of Belmore,
The bride; who was given in marri-
age by her father, entered the living-
room to the strains of Lohengrin's
wedding march played by the groom's
sister-in-law, Mrs. Rae Louttit.
The bride was gowned in embroid-
ered satin and net with a floor length
veil and carried a bouquet of American
Beauty roses and ferns.
Her matron of honour, Mrs. Earl
Halliday, was gowned in blue sheer
with bishop sleeves, and head dress
of Talisman roses and her nosegay
was pink roses and blue cornflowers.
Mr. Rae Louttit acted as his broth-
er's best man. The 'groom's gift to the
bride was a gold wrist watch,
After the ceremony a dainty wedd-
ing dinner was served to the immediate
relatives, the table being prettily dec-
orated in pink and white and centred
with a three-tier wedding cake. Serv-

Growing a garden is quite a trick, if you have to spend a year or
two gathering enough soil to do it. That's what Mrs. S. Philbin, post-
mistress at Churchill, Man., had to do to Create the garden shown above.
It measures 10 by 33 feet. mid Consists of scores of buckets of 'val.
laboriously gathered 111 rock crevices along the rugged shores of the
Hudson Bay. Mrs Philbin mixes a little peat ,known es "muskeg") with the earth, and produces a fine, garden where the common vege,-tables grow quickly. Hours of sunshine ore long at the tar north pf Churchill, and growth is often spectacular. Seedlings often shout.
through the ground five days after planting.
