in Knox. United Church, Auburn, on
Sunday evening, at which Rev. Wm.
Fingland ofNiagara, 'was the guest
speaker. .

Mrs. Fred Cook.

Anniversary services will be held in
Bluevale United Church on Sunday,
Sept. 5th., when Rev. Stewart Miner

Rev. J, A. Burden and Rev. L. C.
Jorgensen returned to their respective
pulpits on Sunday after vacation. Rev.
and Mrs. Jorgensen and David motor-
ed to Wisconsin and Rev. and Mrs.
Burden and family to Halifax.
Rev. L. C. Jorgensen continued a
series of sermons on "Christianity and
Liberalism" on Sunday, in Knox Pres-
byterian Church.
Geo. T. Thomson has sold his
creamery and produce ,business to
Messrs. Donald Robertson of Wing-
ham and Archie Parker of Galt. who
take possession early in September.
Mr. Thomson has operated the cream-
ery for fifteen years. Our citizens are
sled to learn that Mr. and Mrs. Thom-
son are not leaving the village.
Mrs. Thos. Hawkins and children
of Guelph, visited Mrs. M. L. Aitken.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Harris and
gamily, of Toronto, were visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Johnston on Sun-
day.
Miss Shirley Burden and her brother
Lester, of Dartmouth, N.S., are visit-
fag at the home of Rev. J. A. Burden
and Mrs. Burden.
,Mr. and Mrs. Donald Street of Kit-
-chener, were Sunday visitors with Mrs,
M. L. Aitken.
Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Smith and
Eleanor attended the 25th wedding
anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh
Berry of Brucefield.
Audrey Mann and Elizabeth Mc-
Kinney spent last week at Raymond
Elliott's.
Miss Florence Fowler is holidaying
at Seaforth.
Miss Delores Lucas of Listowel, is
a visitor in the community.
The September meeting of the Wo-
men's Institute will be held at the
home of Mrs, J. A. Burden on Thurs-
day, Sept. 9th. "Social Welfare" will
be the theme and Mrs. W. J. Peacock
will speak. Roll Call will be "Pont's
for the sick-room" District officers-
Mrs. Jas, Armstrong and Mrs. Stanley
Wheeler will visit the meeting. Visi-
tors are welcome,

The band tattoo held on Monday
night' Wag a decided success, with
bands present from Wingham, Goder-
ich, Clinton and other points, The
tattoo was tad under the auspices of,
Blyth Lions Boys and Girls Band,
Mr. and Mrs. 3. A, Cowan of Grand
Bend, were renewing acquaintances in
Myth on Monday, Mr. Cowan is Chief
of Policeat 1Grand Bend with two
subordinate officers.
Mr. and Mrs. Naftel and Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Elliott are spending a
week on the shores of Georgian Bay,
neat Owen Sound,
Mr. and Mrs, S. Burgess of Morris,

Cowan property will move to Elyth
