Whiteeburch, visited Rev, and Mrs.
Maclean at their cottage, Blair's
Point, on Sunday,
Mr. and Mrs, H. Fleming and son,
Toronto, are spending this week with
Mrs, Freda. MacDonald.
Miss Meta MacLaughlin and her
friend, Miss Jean' Melville, both of
Toronto, were Sunday visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. D, S. MacNaughton.
Deepest 'sympathy is extended to
the family of Mrs. Duncan MacNau-
ghton, who passed away on Thursday,
July 22nd,, in her 87th year. Funeral
services took place on Saturday,
A number of ladies from this dis-
trict attended the Mary Hastings :pic-
nic held in Wingham park on Wed-
nes, and report an interesting and
successful afternoon.
Property Sold
Mr, and Mrs. Allister Breen have
disposed of their fine property on
the 2nd. line of Turnberry - to Mr,
Andrew Adams. The deal covers stock
which includes- a fine herd of Jersey
cows, and faiik machinery. Mr. Green
has purchased a new home in Wing-
ham, where he will take up residence
after the harvest season. Neighbors
and friends will , regret to lose the
Green family from the community, but
join in wishing them every success in
their new home,
New Road Progressing
The Seegmillar Construction Com-
pany are planning to build a tempor-
ary bridge over which to haul gravel
to continue the new road on highway
87, The Hydro, Bell and Wroxeter
Telephone Crews arc busy changing
and renewing their lines on the 2nd,
line of Turnberry, and the new fence
for the highway is almost completed
in this section.

Douglas and daughter, Anne, were in
Listowel on Tuesday evening for the
Trousseau Tea given in honour of
Ellen Ann Brisbin, niece of the for-
mer. Mrs, J, Douglas and the groom's
mother, Mrs, Jackson Henderson,
poured tea. Mi6s Anne Douglas open-
ed the door to the guests.
Week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs.
James Sangster were: Miss Gertrude
Sangster and Mr, Alex Gray Detroit;
Mr. and Mrs. Max Stewart, Moles-
worth, M. and Mrs. Jack Barlow and
Ruth Anne, Toronto; Mrs. Ruth Mac-

Master Billy St. Marie of Clifford,
is visiting his grandmother, Mrs. W,

David, Detroit, were guests of Mrs.
Frank Sanderson one day early last
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Grant Lambert, of
Dorking, were Sunday guests of Mr.
J. Lambert and Mr. Edward Lambert.

Weir, spent a day recently with Mr.
and Mrs, Elmer Patter, Holmesville.
Lyle Hart has been a bed patient
suffering from asthma for some weeks,
His many friends hope he will soon
regain good health.

highly esteemed re silent in the person
of Mrs. Duncan MacNaughton,
Jennie Anne Macrwen, in her 87th
year, and the last member of the fam-
ily of the pioneers, Mr. and Mrs. Jas.
MacEwen, was born on the 2nd. line
of Turnberry, on the farm now owned
by William Mundell, Where she lived
until her marriage with Duncan Mac-
Ilatithton, who preaceased her nine.

Mils. Lyle Willis of Waillace. Town-
ship, who was so suddenlyq)ereaved,
when her husband, Lyle Willis, 80
year-old farmer was instantly killed,
asd his car demolished at 2 p.m., on
Thursday, when struck by a Kincar-
dine hound C.N.R, train on the 4th
Concession of Wallace at Gowans-
town. Mr. Willis was returning from
Listowel with a load of chop and ap-
parently did not notice the train which
was running behind schedule. He is
• survived by his wife, the former Doris
Musgrove of Wroxeter, and daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Musgrove,
