tins, Government representative, of
her trip to the European countries last
year, Mrs, Ezra Seholtz gave a read-
ing "Don't Quit.`, and Mrs. 0. CT,
Anderson of Belgrave, then gave an
address explaining the Huron Co-Op-
erative Medical Services plan. After
a discussion period, the following,
were appointed to form an Institute
group, Mrs, Albert Walters, Mrs. Rus-
sell GOunt, Mrs. Garnet Farrier, Mrs.
Anderson was tendered a vote of
thanks and the National Anthem clos-
ed the meeting. Lunch was served.and
the social time enjoyed by all,
Mr. and Mrs. Griffin of Detroit,
and Mrs. MeDiarmid and daughter.,
Marilyn also of Detroit, are spending
the next two weeks at the home of
Mrs. John MacMillan and other rela-
tives in this community and Lucknow,
Miss Patsy MacMillan, who had been
visiting for the past three weeks iii
Detroit, returned home with them,
Miss Marjorie and Jack Coulter are
spending a week at the home of Mr,
and Mrs. Alex Leaver, of E. Wawa-
nosh.
Mrs. Jas. Moore and children of Tor-
onto, have been visiting with her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Johnston in
the village, and on Sunday visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Gershom Johnston
of East Wawanosh.
Mrs. Russell Moore and children of
Preston, has been Visiting during the
past two weeks at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Moore and Russell
spent 'the week-end there.
Miss Mildred McClenaghan R,N,,
is spending a few days this week with
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pollock of Ford-
wich.
Mrs. Andrew Fox is spending two
weeks with her daughter, Miss Isabel
Fox, R. N., at the Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Robinson and
their son, Kenneth, and Mr. and Mrs.
Everett Robinson and sons, of Minne-
apolis, who were visiting with their
mother, Mrs. Wm. Robinson at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. John Kilpat-
rick, Lucknow, also visited with Mr,
and Mrs. Cecil Wheeler, who have
moved to their new home in Blyth.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Stacey and
children of 'Wingham, spent Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Relison Falconer,
and Billie and Grant McIntyre of
Wingham, have been spending their
holidays there. 1
Mr. and Mrs. J. F. McLean visited
on -Thursday last with his brother,
Rev, and Mrs. E. R. McLean of Tor-
onto, at their cottage at Blair's Point.
Mr. and Mrs, Ira McLean and
children of Wroxeter, visited on Sun-
day with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
J. F. McLean and with other rela-
tives at Bruce Beach.
Mr. Beth Gaunt of Preston, spent

is spending his holidays with his bro-
ther, Mr. John McBurney of Marnoch.
Miss Mary Mason of Hamilton is
visiting the week at the home of her
brother, Mr. John Mason of E. Wa-
wanosh, and Mr. Lloyd Mason of Lis-
towel, and Mr. and Mrs. Fleming
Johnston and baby, Wayne, of Blue-
vale, also visited there on Sunday.
Mr. and ,Mrs, Louis Wenz of De-
troit and her aunt and uncle, Mr. and
Mrs. Jas, McGill of Clinton, visited
on Saturday at the home of Mr. Thou,
Robinson and with Mr. and Mrs. J. D.
Beecroft.
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Gibson and
Shirley, Jennie and Roland of Port
Dalhousie, have been visiting with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. McLean,
Mr. and Mrs. Gibson had a fire in
their home after they left, as the frig-
idaire did not shut itself off right, and

Mrs. Milian Moore and her little dau-
ghter, Margaret Elizabeth, returned
home from Wingham Hospital on
Sunday.
,Mr. John McKinnon of the 4th Con.
of Kinloss , who was taken to Wing-
ham Hospital last Thursday evening,
when a tractor ran over him, has been'
progressing favourably.
The regular monthly meeting of the
Women's Institute was held on Tues-
day, July 13th, in the Memorial Hall
here, with the President, Mrs, Ben
McClenaghan, in charge of the pro-
gram. After the opening exercises
much merriment was caused when the
19 members present answered the roll
call telling of their worst eooking fail-
ure. All sang, Coming through the
rye, the more we get -together the
happier we'll be. The ladies decided
that anyone who wished to take the
course in modern dress-making here
from August 2nd, to August 6th, must
become members, and then pay 25c
for the training. Miss Jean Gaunt

cardine. Rev, Mr, Hewitt introduced
the thirty-five young folks who assist-
ed, and the violinist, Mr. Henry. Mr.
Garnet Farrier's Orchestra provided
musts for the dance that followed.
The different families of the family
of Mrs. Sant McBurney and other nei-
ghbors and relatives gathered at the
10th bridge picnic grounds on Sunday
afternoon, to celebrate Mrs. Maur-
*tees seventy-sevetttit birthday, and
have a picnic supper together. All en-
joyed the social time and outing. ,Miss
'Gwen Mcturney and Mr. Elmer
Shiell of London, were also present.
Mr. Adam Robertson, Mr. and Mrs.
Alex Robertson, Mrs. Dawson Craig
of Whitechurch, and Mrs. Wm. Pea,
cock of Bluevale, motored to Flint on
Thursday last, to attend the funeral
of the late Mts. Robertson's sister,
Mrs. Jas. Baircl, formerly Mary King,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Peter king of E. Wawanosh. ,Mrs.
Baird left a married family of eight
children, twenty-two grandchildren,
and ten great granchildren. Of the
five sons and four daughters of the
former Ring family, only one son,
Charles King of Clinton, survives.
Mrs. Baird was buried front Lincoln
Baptist Church on Saturday.
The Midsummer Birthday meeting
Of the W.M.S. of the Presbyteilan
Church Will be held this .Thursday
evening at 8.30 p.m., in the church
here, 'with Mrs. (Rev.) Milne of Brus-
sels as special speaker. A short Play
will be presented and a musical. pro-
gram. Ladies of the W.M.S. front
Lucknow, Teeswater, Winghani,
Langside, Calvin, and the United
Church hem have been invited to at-
tend.

spending his holidays with Ms father,
