Miss Florence David - spent the
week-end with her parents at Orange-

Mrs, Harold Hamilton is spending
a few days with friends at Fergus,
Mr, and Mrs, Harvey Timm, Ger-
ald, Murray, Marilyn and Marjorie,
spent Thursday of last week at
Guelph.
'Wroxeter Community Association
held one of the most successful dan-
ces of the season in the Town Hall
on Friday evening. Wilbee's Orchestra
supplied music and the pie and choco-
late milk supplied by the booth proved
popular, The Association plan on hold-
ing a dance every two weeks during
the season.
Miss Ruth Brown and Mr. Jack
Cooper, both of Toronto, were week-
end guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. Brown
Mr, Ed. Diebel and Miss Annie Die-
bel, of Mildmay, were Sunday guests
at the Brown home.
Mr. and Mrs. 1 Mel Martin, Peter
and Patricia, Toronto, spent a day last
week with Mr. and Mrs, J. H. Wylie,
going, on to Amberley where they are
enjoying a holiday,
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dane spent the
week-end with the latter's brother,
Mr, Wm, and Mrs. Seegmiller, Kitch-
ener.
Mrs. Freda MacDonald visited her
son, Bob, in London, over the week-
end.
Mr. Anthony Holt from near Lis-
towel, has been a guest of his sister,
Mrs. Brothers, Sr., for the' past two
weeks.
Mrs. Bert Harris and Mrs. Albert
Gallaher are enjoying t two weeks'
vacation with friends at Belleville.
Ball fans enjoyed a good ball game
on Friday night when Brussels group
visited the Wroxeter _Rockets. Dark-
ness prevented the game's finish but
at the 7th inning the visitors had a
slight margin.
St. James Anglican Sunday School
will he discontinued for the summer
season and will re-organize in the fall.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bennett and
daughters, from Sundridge, were call-
ed home on account of the serious
illness of the former's mother, Mrs.
Edwin Bennett.

ing closed with the hymn, In the early

and the Mizpah benediction. The meet-
ing was under the direction of lead-
ers, Mrs. Stuart Higgins and Mrs,
Harvey Reidt.
Women's Missionary society
One Church, One People in Canada
will be the theme for the July meet-
ing of the W.M.S. United Church to
be held in the church school-room on
Friday, June 9th, Miss .K Hazelwood
and Mrs, R., B. Palmer will arrange
the devotional' period. It will be an
all members programme on Home
Missions, Roll Call to be answered
by naming a noted hymn writer.
An interesting, meeting was arrang-
ed for Monday, when Howick Mutual
Fire Insurance Co., held its '75th An-
niversary. The meeting held in Wrox-
eter Town Hall was attended by for-
mer directors and many who had been
associated with the company in for-
mer years. Mr. Duncan Sinclair, Har-
riston paid tribute to the founders and
Mr. John Bryans of Harriston gave
the history of the Company. Dinner
was served by the Women's Associa-
tion of the-United Church, A detailed
account of the meeting will be given
next week.
Howick Lions Supper Meeting
Stan Bride of Fordwich was elected
president for the coming year, when
the Lions held Ladies' night with the
women of the United Church Associa-
tion catering. Bob Cunningham enter-
tained with solos, Mrs. Brothers at the
piano. Mrs. Caley and Mrs. Brothers
favored with piano duets, Lion Ken
Edgar has a busy evening exacting
fines also provided amusement with a
contest. It is expected that with the
co-operation of the Lions and Wrox-
Community Association, the village
parklights will be installed within the
next two weeks. Plans are being made
also for the annual frolic. Following
are the officers elected for the com-
ing year.
