Mr. and Mrs. Clarence MeCienagban,
and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Laidlaw
and Ivan attended the trousseau tea at
the home of Mr, and Mrs. Harry Mc-
Clenaghan, Belgrave, on Wednesday
night last, Mrs. Laidlaw and Mrs.
Kelly poured for the occasion,
When Mr, and Mrs, George Mc-
Clenaghan and Miss Mildred and Ivan
Laidlaw were going to Mr. Harry Mc-
Clenaghan's on Saturday morning,
their ear slid off the road at Mr. Jas.
McInnis' gate and turned over in the
ditch, The roads were very icy, and
Mrs, McClenagban was driving slowly
in the heavy north wind. Fortunately,
no one was injured.
Mr, Pat Coulter of Chatham, while
driving on the highway on Sunday
with his new car, droppetbinto a frost-
heaved hole in the road, and the bot-
tom of the crankcase was pierced lett-
ing the oil out.
Mr. William Wraith was able to
leave Wingham General Hospital on
Wednesday last, after his illness from
'pneumonia, and went to the home of
his son, John, at Lucknow.
Born—On Monday, March 22nd, in
Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, to Mr. and
Mrs. Dean Moir (nee Margaret Mac-
Gregor), a son.
Mr. and Mrs, Albert Coultes and
Marjorie and Jack spent the week-end

Mrs. Edna Forsythe of Windsor and
Mrs.,Norma Taylor of Toronto spent
the week-end at the home of their par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Morrison.

Mr, and Mrs. Clifford Heifer, Mr.
and Mrs, Norman Welwood, Mr. and'
Mrs. Jack McIntyre, Billie and Grant,
of Wingham, visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Falconer. Billie
and Grant stayed to spend a few clays
on the farm.
Mr. Sam Conker and Mr. Pat Coul-
ter, of Chatham,visited on Saturday
with Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Falconer.
Mrs. John McGee received a letter
last week from a lady in Italy, who
had received a coat, which Mrs. Mc-
Gee had sent in a bale some months
ago. Mrs. McGee had put her name
and address in the pocket.
Mr. Adam McBurney of Kingston,
spent the week-end with his brother,
Mr. John McBurney of Marnoch.
E. Wawanosh Road Supt. Stewart
McBurney was able to have the ap-
proaches to the bridge on the 10th
Concession ready for traffic on Wed-
nesday night last week. Considerable
filling had To be done to the approach-
es to the bridge on the 9th as the
swift current had washed about half
the stones and gravel away from the
ends of the bridge. Roads are grad-
ually getting back to normal shape.
Mr. Roy McGee of Toronto, spent
the week-end with his father, Mr.
Henry McGee and Gordon, and Miss
Florence Beecroft spilt the week-end
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D.
B ecroft.

on in their farm houses and buildings
on Saturday last, Mr. Kenneth Currie,
Mr. E. E. Walker, Mr. John Tcrvitt,
Mr. Roland Grain, Mr. James Wilson
and Mr. Jas. Norman. Mr. Alex Coul-
ter is having his buildings wired this
week.
