Annual Meeting The attendance was small at the annual business meeting of Bluevale United Church on account of the ex- treme cold and blocked roads. Rev. J. A, Burden presided and led in a short devotional service and singing a hymn. Mrs. Edward Johnston record- ing steward, read the minutes of last meeting. Reports showed a substantial increase in (both members and monies in all branches of the work. All obli- gations were met and a good balance is on hand. There is an increase of over $60.00 in Missionary givings, Messrs. Earl Hamilton and Carl Johnston were elected new members of session to replace Messrs. W. 3, John- ston. and Chris. Hetherington, The Board of Stewards was re-ellected: George Thornton, Richard Johnston, Robert McKinnon and Charles John- ston. Mr. Burden reported 273 mem- bers on the church roll and during the year there were 5 baptisms, 4 marriages and 5 deaths. Miss Emma Johnston _reported 120 members on Sunday &hoot roll and receipts nearly ,$250,00. Average at- tendattce 63, contributions to Missions and Chinese Relief $15.00; Miss John- ston reported the Woman's Missionary Society had a membership of 24, held 12 meetings, raised nearly $200.00 and sent a bale to China. Reports were read of the Mission Band by ,Miss Curtis and Mrs. W. 5. Johnston. Mrs. John- ston allso reported for the choir. The ?XX'. with Miss Wilda Brec- kenridge as President, and Miss Roma Breckenridge as Treas., reported $25.00 given to M. & M. of the Church after meeting all expenses. There was a bal- ance of 03.00. Reports were given of the yoting boys society, The Explorer& The Mis- sionary & Maintenance Fund, Pension mtmd, Victoria College milud and the Trustee Board. A recommendation was received for increasing insurance on the church building, Mrs, George Thomson always gives a good repoit, with touches of hunt- our of the Woman's Association. There were 81 members, 12 meetings. Only three' had perfect attendance. They raised over 052,00 and spent it on the needs of the congregation ex- cepting their small balance of $9.00. Mr. Burden pronounced the benedic- tion and all enjoyed a social hour and refreshments. IL McKinney and Elizabeth spent the week-end with her daughter, IGliss Eileen Mekinney at London. Mrs. 3.
