Red Cress Annual The annual meeting of the Gorrie and District branch of the Red Cross was held in the Orange Hall on Mon- day afternoon, Meeting opened with singing of National Anthem,,The Pre- sident, Mrs, Alex Taylor was in the c hair. Minutes of last annual meeting and treasurer's report were read. The president told of the peace time activities of the Red Cross. During the year two hospital beds were purchased for our own community, also four Dun- lop pillows. These have been in almost constant use, It is hoped that this sum- mer in conjunction with the Commun- iy Club we may have a Swimming and Water Safety Instructor. , Some sewing was done last spring for Great Britain. Twelve 28 piece lay- ettes were finished, Again this winter we have been asked to sew and quilts are also needed in Gt. The Wingham team showed good form with Herb Elliott, Fleming and Ted Elliott com- bining for many three men rushes that resulted in a goal being scored, while Hal McLean as rover helped to pile up the score by his accurate shots.
