At the 9:30 a.m. morning
prayer service, the Rev.
Greg Smith was in charge,
and read the lst lesson from
Isaiah 62 6-7 and 10-11. The
second lesson was read by
Helen Herbert. In his
message to the children,
Rev, Smith related a story of
a village which was isolated
from its king and the rest of
the 'Kingdom, the people felt
unwanted by their king, and
were thinking about joining
the nearby enemy. When the
king came to live in their
town, everything changed,
and the villagers were happy
to be part of the Kingdom.
In his sermon the Rector
referred to the story that he
had told the children, ex-
plaining that Jesus was the
king, and all the people of the
world the villagers,. The
arrival of Jesus into the
World, brought Joy and
Happiness to all people.

journeyed to London on
Sunday evening December
21 to sing Christmas carols to
the residents of theChateau

Two Granton area chur-
ches held Christmas eve
services, Wesley United
opened their service with a
candle lighting ceremony,
followed by Holy Com-
munion, The Rev. Elwood
Mordep officiated,There was
a good attendance of
members and visitors at this
inspirational service.
St, Thomas Anglican
Church held their annual
Christmas eve service, with
the Rev, Greg Smith in
charge of the worship and
the Celebrant of Holy
Communion. There was also
a good attendance at this
service.
"The Afterglow of
Christmas" was the subject
of the Rev. Elwood Morden'a
sermon at the United Church
on Sunday morning.
Shouts of happy children
were heard on Christmas
morning and radios heralded
the dawn with music
reminiscent of the angelic
chorus of long ago which
sang "Glory to God in the
Highest". Many people
made their way to services
of divine worship on
Christmas eve, where they
joined with their friends and
neighbors in listening once
more to the good news of the
Savior who had been born.
For some, perhaps the
afterglow of Christmas may
be only the crumpled gift-
