SCROOGE AT MOUNT CARMEL — Scrooge was played by David Dietrick during a
Christmas play at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Tuesday night. The Christmas ghosts
are Mary Fleming, Tracey Ford and Ruth Cullierier. ' T-A photo
'Tis the Christmas season
Christmas is rolling around
again,
Our decorations come out to
brighten the den.
Some children are counting
the days left to go,
While others wait for the
first fall of snow.
Christmas Eve is the par-

CHRISTMAS SEASON
By Paulette Rothbauer
Grade7
J.A.D. McCurdy
For brother there's soldiers
that can play war.
Roast turkey smells from the
cooking place,
And other good smells we
can almost taste.
Finally comes the time for
the delicious dinner
Nobody worries about
getting any bit thinner
All these presents and gifts
and foods are just great
But don't. forget the real
story behind this wonderful
date.

And there's tons of eggnog to
our parents' delight.
Dad's drinking beer as if it's
bottles of Cokes,
And at the same time he's
laughing at his own jokes.
Finally suddenly on
Christmas Eve night,
We all see Rudolph's bright
red light
Guiding the sled on the milky
way,
And its gone like the wind at
the first sign of day.
With Christmas morning
arriving at last,
Children are down the stairs
like a flash.
Some shout to Mom and Lad
"Merry Christmas!" '
Under the mistletoe, some
others may kiss.
Mom's up out of bed and
ready to go
While Dad through one eye
makes a face at the snow.
There are a whole lot of
presents under the tree
Same for every single person
in the fam-i-ly
For sister there's dolls and
dolls galore,

Life is full of excitement,
And Christmas'carols fill the
air,
People are busy shopping
For new holiday clothes to
wear.
Falling snow makes things
white
For the season we hold dear
Lights from decoratiohs do
twinkle
It's the happiest time of
year.

Christmas is a time for fun
Love and joy for everyone,
Cuddled into bed at night
Indeed it feels just right.

Usborne Central,
While I was walking down
the street
Lots of people I did meet
With happiness in all girls
and boys
For they knew Santa would
bring, them toys.
I remembered back when.I
was a small boy
.When I got maybe one little
toy
Now everyone gets a remote
control par
But my toys were better, oh,
by far.
When I was seven I got a sled
Oh it was nice all shinny and
red
Way back then I had so much
to do
But I hope every child likes
their toys too.

May the miracle of
that first Christmas
be fresh and meaningful
as we share it
with those we love.
