Ecumenical for Christmas
By ANNE WALPER
GREENWAY
Intended for last week
A large crowd of ladies
attended the Christmas
Ecumenical meeting which
was held at the United

Six ladies from Grand

their president Eleanor
Durie told about Christmas
customs in other lands. The
ladies assisting were

Hamilton, Mrs. Moore, Mrs.
Mason, and Mrs. Morenz.
Roberta Walker from the
"Immaculate Heart of Mary
Church" sang "No Room in
the Inn" for one of her two
solos. She was accompanied
by Mrs. Campbell who also
accompanied Lucille Vin-
cent of "The Church of God"
as she sang the solo "Room
in My Heart".
The highlight of the
evening came when Alice
Dixon of Parkhill told in her
interesting manner of her
"Impressions and
Experiences," at the
"Passion Play" which she
had the good fortune to see in
June:
It is held every tenth year
in Oberammergau which is a
village in Bavaria 45 miles
from Munich, Germany. The
cast are all' amateurs and
consist of people from the
town.
It was presented in
gratitude by the townspeople
for the end of a plague during
which time many people
died. It is spoken in German
and books in English are sold
to those who wish to follow
the play,
After telling us about her
experiences she showed
interesting slides of the town
and many of the scenes
which she had bought as
nobody is allowed to take
pictures during.the play. The
collection for the evening
will be sent to "Arc
Industries",
Douglas Woodburn with
his guitar sang "Silver
Bells" accompanied by
Evelyn Curts at the organ.
The lighting of the third
Advent Candle was done by
Pearl Bloomfield on Sunday
to represent the ladies of the
church. Rev. Moore spoke on
the topic, "Seekers" and
carols were sung.
The Sunday School concert
followed the church service
and David Eagleson gave the
words of welcome. Jean
