A BABE WAS BORN
By Steven Mothers
Grade5
Grand Bend Public
School
Once in a stall in Bethlehem
A little babe was born
And the stars shone bright
On that Christmas night
Over the place where Jesus
lay
In the manger on the hay
Joy to the world the angels
sang
Over the land it rang
And the shepherds came
When they heard the same
To see the new king that was
born
So that they could adorn him.
A BAD DAY
By Kelly Jehns
Usborne Central
It was December 13th, a
Friday when Sally hopped
out of bed. She had to go
Christmas shopping, but she
was scared because it was
Friday the 13th.
After Sally had, had her
breakfast, she came upstairs
to get dressed. As she was
dressing, she relized that she
had put her underwear on
backwards, She knew if she
changed them, it would be
bad luck, but she changed
them anyways.
Just then, her little brother
came storming into her
room. He had a present for
his mother, It was a
beautiful umbrella. The
problem was it was open
which meant bad luck,
She yelled at him never to
do that again. This made him
leave the room.
When Sally arrived at the
shopping mall, she found she
had lost her money. This
meant the bad luck was
working already. With no
money, she couldn't shop, so
she went home.
When Sally got home she
agreed she would stay in bed
on Friday the 13th,
especially near Christmas!
CHRISTMAS ,
By Gerry Ducharme
Oradell
Precious Blood
In Bethlehem Jesus lay
On a late December day
With cows and sheep
Wise men come to greet him
there
Also angels and a Bright
Star
Above the stable where he is.
The children come down
excitedly
Tearing the wrappings off
their presents,
The meaning of Christmas is
sharing
Everybody shares their gifts
and gives gifts
Christmas is a time when
Jesus Christ was born
He is the Son of God
Jesus Christ is our King
God shared His greatest gift
with us at this time of year.
