THE WORLD WITHOUT
CHRISTMAS
By Pam Cottrell
Hensall P.S.
If there wasn't any
Christmas, people one and
all would never think to
appreciate what they have
going for them and what
others have done for them.
We would forget that Jesus
who was born on Christmas
• day died for us so that we
would be free.
Without Christmas people
wouldn't be able to be so
unselfish by buying their
loved-ones gifts and to see
their radient smiles as they
opened them. In the
children's viewpoint, if there
wasn't any Christmas they
would not have a holiday
away from school.
every year around the
Cistmas season many
families and relatives get
together and celebrate. If it
was not for Christmas the
many relatives that lived a
distance away would never
have had time or excuse
enough to go visiting. So you
see the whole world needs
Christmas for many reasons.

There once was a boy,
His name was Steve
He dreamed of a joy
On Christmas Eve
While the bells did ring
And the Angels sing
The joy he hoped that Santa

The , most wonderful,
beautiful, magical thing
It lies as still as a snow-
covered log
It's fluffy and hairy, - it's
Mandy, my dog.
A LETTER TO SANTA
Dear Santa Claus:
My wish on Christmas is to
have peace on earth.
Somehow if you could stop
wars and all that other
fighting you hear about all
those other fights. This is a

are world would be alot
closer together if this would
come true Christmas morn.

SANTA TROUBLES
By Bruce Andrews
Grade 3

One. Christmas Santa was
out delivering presents. He
came across a small house in
the middle of town. He tried
go down the chimney but he
wouldn't fit. He tried the door
but it was locked. He planned
to go down the hard way.
He'd get in as far as he
could then he'd yell blocks
away and one of his elves
would drop a cement block
down and lash him the rest of
the way,
What he didn't know was
that the lady who lived in the
house had a boiling pot of
stew over the fire. Then the
lady came and took it off the
fire.
When she dipped the spoon
in to give it a taste Santa
grabbed it. The lady felt him
tugging and pulled the spoon
Out and said oh dear I'm
dreadful sorry and sent him
on his way.

Christmas is a time of year,
When Santa Claus is near
With many gifts and lovely

No matter what the weather
But most of all we should
remember,
That Jesus was born on the

One Christmas I heard such
a noise
I put on my nightgown cause
I thought it was the boy
I ran to their bedrooms and
all were asleep
Except a little mouse taking
a peep
I ran downstairs and all that
I could see
Was something to make a
small child flee.
After I saw a beard of white,
I knew everything was
alright.
He filled all the stockings
with lots of care,
His footsteps were as light as
air.
M he Worked he never did

I knew it must be Santa

He lay his finger aside his
nose.
Then up the chimney he rose.

Christmas is a time to care,

On the day of Christ's birth.
MY CHRISTMAS

It was half past eight, and I
couldn't wait,
TO experience my dream
Minutes passed like hours,
staring at flowers
It was midnight, that it
seemed
I had a snack and then went
back, to my secret hiding
place
It was up one floor, right
above our store
On my bed which was
trimmed with lace
It was now ten o'clock, I
heard someone knock
And yelled, "I know I've
stayed up too late"
But to my surprise, it was
someone wise
My dog, who too had come to
wait
It was eleven fifty-nine, soon
it would be time
To experience my dream
And there he was, yes Santa
Clause, Rudolph, and the
team
He went straight down the
chimney, and that's all that I
could see
Until he came back up the
chimney, smiling with glee.
He saw me through the
window, And he hollered,
"Ho, ho, ho," •
But soon was no longer near
So I stared at his sleigh, until
he was really far away,
Then I thought "Just wait till
next year!"

By Leanne Dietrich
Grade 4

One day before Christmas
Santa Claus was sick in bed.
He had all of his elves busy
at work making toys for all
the little children.
Meanwhile Mrs. Claus was
making all sorts of things she
thought would make him
better. She finally got one
she was sure would work.
She took it to Santa who by
this time was willing to try
anything. He took one
spoonful and was all better.
Mrs. Claus got him his big
fur coat and pants along with
his mittens and boots. He
put them on and went outside
to get the reindeer.
He then told the elves to
pack the sleigh. Just when he
was about to leave Mrs.
Claus called out the door "Oh
Santa you forgot your hat."
Santa ran to the door took
the hat and ran back to the
sleigh. He then told the
reindeer to take him to
Northwood. Up, Up they
went riding through the sky.
And so Christmas was saved.

THE CHRISTMAS TREE

Jack Frost is out biting
everybodyies nose,' and it is
only three weeks from
Christmas .so we finally
decided to put our Christmas
tree up.
This is traditision in our
house. I will tell you how we
put up our tree, what we use
on it, and the purpose of
having it.
We bring the tree in from
the cold winter and put it in
our livinging room. After we
do that we shuffle furniture
around to see where it looks
best. We decided to put it in
front of the window so people
could see it. Now it is time to
decorate our tree.
Mom and Dad put the
lights on because my sister
and I just end up breaking a
few light and tangling up the
wire. When that is done we
can do what we want to the
tree with our decerations.
Little soilders, snowman,
Mr. and Mrs. Claus,
snowflakes, foil and whole
lot of other things are put on
to our tree. When we are
done, it looks so nice that we
don't want to take it down.
We use a tree for Christ-
mas usually for putting our
Christmas presents under.
That is if you are good, but I
am sure we are all good
children so we should find
something. But we have to
remember that' the tree is
one of many symbles
represted for Christmas.

It was some kind of bird. It

that child up to now?"
Magnolia had made up her
mind She was going to the
mouse wizard on the huge
hill behind the square. She
was going to get a potion to
make Santa Mouse better.
Magnolia started for the
mountain.
When she arrived at the
base of the mountain she saw
the rugged climb ahead. She
started. It seemed like she
had climbed miles. Finally
Magnolia reached the top.
She ran over to the wizard's
cave.
'Mr. Wizard sir, this is

the toys tonight unless he is
better. Please let me come in

THE STORY OF CHRIST
By David Skea
Hensall P.S.
Christmas comes but once a
year
And in under 15 days it will
be here
A time when we sit down to
eat and drink
But before we go on let us
think
Almost 2000 years ago in
Jerusulem
the Virgin Mary became a
MOM
He was no ordinary baby you
understand
It was Jesus the Christ Child,
King of all lands.
He wasn't born in a hospital
like most of us are today
But it was in a lowly stable
that he first saw the light 'of
day
People came from miles
around
Shepherds, Wisemen and
folk from the town
There is more to the story of
the birth of Christ
But this is all that I will tell
you tonight.
CHRISTMAS TIME
By Brian Kints
Grade 7
Precious Blood
Christmas is a time for fun
and laughter
When some boys get guns
and tractors
The girls get dolls and kit-
chen sets
Sometimes even kittens for
pets.
Sleds and skis are popular
too
These give the kids
something to do
I've always wanted a
hamster maze
But electronic games are
tops these days
Some of these games give
you information
Some help you improve your
education
A scarf and a hat and maybe
a sweater
Are also perfect for this kind
of weather.
Under the Christmas tree
you find goodies and toys
Which surely pleases all
girls and boys
But above all Christmas is a
time to celebrate Jesus Birth
Who came to us to give
goodwill to men and peace on
earth.

On the morning of Friday
the 13th Bob fell out of bed
and broke his neck. His
mother took him to the
hospital and the doctor said
"Bob you'll have to wear a
brace for four weeks."
The sad news broke
Bobby's heart. He would not
be able to see all his presents
that Santa brought and open
the ones from mom and dad:
Also he wouldn't be able to
open the ones grandma and
grandpa would give him. In
the hospital they had their
Christmas decorations up.
Bobby started crying and a
pretty nurse came and sat,
beside him. "What's wrong
Bobby."
"I will miss all my
Christmas presents."
"That's not good is it?"
replied the nurse, "but don't cry."
Bobby started thinking
and remembered that he
would miss a hockey tour-
nament which was going to
be on television. He • was
really upset so he blamed it
on Friday the 13th. It was
Christmas and his mother
and father brought him some
of his Christmas presents.
After that he started
feeling happy and he wat-

T.V. and they won. But don't
forget watch out for Friday
the 13th.
