David B. Ragg confirmed the following: Cam Darling, Brad Darling and Kristyn Darling of Mt. Carmel, David Hodgins, Ted Hodgins, Janice Hodgins and Terry Hodgins of Greenway and Michelle Goulet (of Thedford). The Parish consists of Thedford, Port Franks and Greenway and the Pastor is Rev. Tim Hill. A pot-luck lunch followed the the hall. People of Grace Anglican Church are holding their Christmas Concert on Satur- day evening December 20 and Greenway United Church people are holding their concert following the service on Sunday December 14. U.C.W. Eleven ladies were pre- sent at the Christmas meeting which was held at the home of the president, Iva Lagerwerf. Isabel Bullock was in charge of the devotional,, assisted by Anne Walper. The. Christmas Therhe was carried through the devotional. Following the Call to Worship several Christmas carols were sung. The scripture - Luke 2 - , Verses 8-20 was read follow- ed by two readings, "Christ- mas is for 'Sinners" and ' "The Meaning of Christ- mas". Christmas is a time to smile, show our love to others, visit shut-ins and go to church. Isabel closed the worship service with prayer. Iva was in charge of the business and thank-you notes were read from Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mellin, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Rock and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Steeper. Doris Eagleson gave the treasurer's report and read a letter that she had receiv- ed from "The Irwin's". Donations were sent to Korea for "The Irwins" and the Salvation Army. A new slate of officers for next year was brought forward by Olive Horner and Ruby Isaac. Other items of business were discussed. The meeting closed with a tasty lunch served by Isabel Bullock and the hostess. A time of fellowship was en- joyed by the members. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Ross Brown had a pre-Christmas Family gathering with relatives in Collingwood where they spent the week-end. Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Bob Taylor celebrated their 40th wedding anniver- sary at Hensall Community Centre. HEBER DAVIS SAINTSBURY Rev, Greg Smith was in charge of service held in the Parish ball at St. Patrick's church Sunday afternoon. After a short service inwhich the most. recent grand- mother Mrs. Hugh. Davis lit the Advent candles and all joined in the Advent hymn led by Rev, Smith on the guitar, Mrs. Wayne Carroll was at the piano for the carols and hymns. This was followed by a Christmas pageant with Robbie Gee as reader. All of the members of the Sunday School took part, then the children provided piano solos, readings and solos and of course "old Santa Claus " paid his an- nual visit with gifts for the pupils and the two teachers Mrs, Vicky Gee and Mrs. Hazel Davis. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Larry Greenlee and children were dinner guests with Rev. Ken & Mrs. Anderson and Hillary , Lambeth. Hillary was celebrating her first bir- thday. Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Carroll were Saturday night guests with her relatives at Sarnia. Misses Francis Moull and Dona James of Alberta visited relatives in this com- munity last week including Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Davis and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carroll and family and Mrs. Heber Davis and family. The relatives in this com- munity called on their uncle Mr. Clarence Fletcher Ex- eter this past week. Mr, Fletcher was celebrating his 90th birthday at the home of his daughter Mrs. Elliott McRoberts Exeter. Another daughter Mrs. Murray Gib- son, Lucan assisted with the _birthday celebration. n. Mr. & Mrs. Alex Hamilton, Grand Bend spent a day last week with Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Wein. A number of senior citizens and a few others were on a bus trip to Tillsonburg. We toured Coyles and had supper at the Tillsonburg Mall. When we went in a foster boy that Mrs. Ross Krueger had been looking after was there. It sure made her day. Shc hadn't seen him,for four years. He is pow married and has a three year old son. Then we went onto Simcoe to see all the pretty lights, What a feast for the eyes. Mary Hodgins was winner of the draw for the centrepiece that Carrie Ann demonstrated. Eighteen Members were present. A delicious pre-Christmas dinner was held at the Star- dust Inn at Crediton for the "Senior Citizens", After the dinner Bob Heywood enter- tained and the members were delighted when Santa made a surprise visit' and gave each person a bag of candy. Attending from here were Martha Geromette and Gertie Hodgins. Personals Recent visitors with Selbourne and Martha English were Mrs. Ruby Abel, Mrs. Doris Griffeth, Mr. and Mrs. John Allister, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Pollock and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Pollock. Friday evening visitors with Harvey and •Shirley Eagleson were Jim and Doris Eagleson. White gift Sunday was held at the United Church. The second candle was lit by Mark Isaac who represented the boys of the congregation. The first candle was lit by Janet Eagleson last Sunday. The. children of the Sunday School re-enacted the Manger Scene under the direction of Marion Larmer and Jean Isaac and the Sun- day school teachers. Everyone passed by the white box presenting a gift. Rev. Moore gave a talk and cr:hol singing completed the service. Open house • Approximately 100 people attended the "Open House" for Larmer Plumbing and Heating last Saturday. Door prizes were won by the following people: Tom Vlemmix, Charlie Brow- ning, Hugh Adair, Harvey Eagleson and Inez Wood- burn. Many people turned out for the opening of McCarter Electric. Winners of the door prizes were Carman Woodburn, Harvey Eagleson and Pat Glavin. Cleve and Eleanor Brophey of Chatham visited with Lyle and Millie Steeper on the weekend.
