A Farmatic automatic roller mill
can increase your butterfat
and your income
Feeding and Management a 50% factor in Butterfat Production
It's true that 50% of the variation in fat test between cows can be explained
by genetic differences, This still leaves 50% which is environmental, ,
a large proportion of which is feeding and management in nature.
Feeding Rolled Grain Mixes Promotes Butterfat Production
Finely ground grains not only reduce the palatability of a
grain mix but also contribute to a lower butterfat test. Rolled grain mixes
provide larger particle sizes. Larger particle sizes encourage
acetic acid production in the rumeh. The mammary glpnd incorporates
this additional acetic acid as additional butterfat.'
More Butterfat from Farmatic Rolled Grains equals more Income
Milk payment is universally, based on the butterfat it contains.
If, for example, the butterfat differential is 45o per hundred litres and your
herd average is 20 litres per cow per day, for every 0.1 kg of extra
butterfat test you would receive an addtional $2.70 per cow
per month. If you have a 40-cow milking herd with a 3.8% butterfat test
instead of the 3.6% base, you would receive an extra $216 per
month or $2,592 for the year.

Continued from page IA
they would prevent boaters
from just staying on for the
entire summer, but no
decision was reached. Snider
asked council when he
should hire a dock master,
but again no decision was
made.
-- Snider again declared a
conflict of interest, when
council received notice from
Manore Marine about a land
title applitation. Snider, an
employee of the marina, was
reminded by the reeve to
declare a conflict, Council
decided to seek clarification
of the title application..
-- Snider reported to
council that he had met with
Ray Britton of the Ministry
of Transportation and
Communication concerning
the take over of roads in
Southcott Pines. The MTC
representative told Snider
that some dead end streets
would have to have turn-
arounds, or be made through
streets, and the speed bumps
would have to be removed.
There could be no gate or
guard at the entrance of
Southcott Pines, if the
village took over the streets.
Some council members
expressed concern about
Tumours going around the
subdivision.,, Residents are
afraid the village will cut
down trees if they take over
the roads, Sharen said. It
was decided that nothing
more would be done unless a
majority of the residents
wanted the village to look
after the streets.
-- A letter from the South-
cott Pines association asked
that they be informed Of any
discussions council has
about that subdivision.
-- Snider told council that
while he was "basically
satisfied with what I got
stuck with," Mrs. Morenz
would prefer to be on
planning board than rec
committee. Snider said that
he felt the public had voted
for some degree of change,
and since Mrs. Mbrenz had
done well on the election, he
felt she should get a choice of
committees. Sharen replied
that they (Snider and
Morenz) were junior
members on council,
regardless of the number of
votes, and he made up the
committees,, He said that
planning board required
continuity. Snider and Mrs.
Morenz eventually agreed to
stay on the rec committee.
-- council received a letter
from Angelo Maruca asking
that the reeve ,and council
give him a signed letter
about the quality , of police
protection in the village.
Maruca said that he objected
to the "Gestapo" tactics of
the Ontario Provincial
Police in Grand Bend.
Maruca said that police
protection was not adequate.
-- Council received a letter
from Elaine Reynolds saying
that she had already in-"
stalled a snow felice in front
of her cottage and she would
not be able to put it ,near the
lake as council has
suggested'
-- council gave permission
to the Women's Interval
Home to canvass the village
for funds. Sharen said that
the home was a benefit to
the community because it
provided shelter for battered
women.
-- a letter was received
from Lambton county asking
Grand Bend to prepare an
emergency plan. Council
members were given a plan
for the village of Burford
explaining how they handled
a tornado. Council decided to
study the plan before going
further with the matter.
-- Crawford suggested that
council prepare a form for
the dog catcher so that better
account of her hours could be
kept..The,dog catcher visits
the village once every two
weeks for two hours, and has
been attending court for the
village. Snider told Crawford
that he would make up a
form.
Sharen, reported that
hydro rates will be going up
an average of .12 percent.
Sharen attended .a meeting
of the public utilities com-
mission.
Sharen suggested that
the chamber of commerce, be
contacted to see if they are
supportiing the Eric Mcllroy
day committee. He said that
the chamber had contacted
council saying that they
were behind the committee,
but now he understood that
