Correspondence was read, roll call and treasurer's report by Mrs. Dorothy Brintnell, 'Thank You's" were given by Mrs. Elizabeth Riley and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Taylor, It was an- nounced the Kippen East Women's Institute will host the Seniors on January 21st. A letter and cheque was gratefully received from the Hensall and District Kinsmen Club. A draw was made on a doily which was made and donated by Mrs, Rosa Harris was won by Mrs, Elizabeth Riley. Mrs. Eileen Rennie presided for the program. Mrs. Hilda Payne led in singing carols with Mrs. Alf Ross at the piano. A male chorus was much enjoyed the singing of "The Queen" closed this mas 'Carols led by Rev. Mr. McDonald and Joyce Pepper at the piano, A film "The Gift" was shown which showed what the real meaning of giving at Christmas is, The children discussed with Mr. McDonald, following the film, what this meant to them. The children, young people and adults were then divided into age groups and enjoyed a time of games and fun. The younger group were led by Janis Bisback and Wendy Banks and the older group by Pat Cook and Stan McDonald. The evening came to an exciting climax when Santa arrived and time was given for each child to haveconversation with Santa before the candy bags were given out. Thompson's Ltd. were entertained to a delicious meal at the Hensall Com- munity Centre on Saturday evening, which was well attended. Following the meal dancing was enjoyed to music by "Whiskey Jack's" band. C.P.T. to pack boxes. The C.P,T. committee of the Hensall IOOF and Amber Rebekah Lodges met on Thursday evening and made arrangements to send boxes to shut-ins. Euchre parties planned for January 28. February 12 and March 12th. Eric Mansfield, chairman of the Sacraments committee presented the parents with their children to Mr. McDonald who spoke to them about the birth of Jesus and relating it to the gift of their child. At the close of the Baptismal Service, Tim Brock, Wayne Scotchmer and Michael McGregor, dressed as Wise Men, and depicting the Wise Men bringing gifts to the Manger of Bethlehem, presented each child with a red car- nation. The guest musician for the service was Miss Elizabeth Schwarz of Waterloo. Miss Schawarz is majoring in music at the University of Waterloo, The congregation were richly blessed through the tremendous talents of this young woman. She presented flute, guitar as well as vocal solos throughout the service. Solos presented were "How Beautiful Are The Feet" by Handel; "Come Unto Him" by Handel; "Alleluja" by Mozart; "Bist du bei" Mir" by Bach; and "0 Lord Most Holy" by Franck. She was accompanied by Dr. Topp at the organ. Florence Slade greeted the congregation and the ushers were Bryan seer and Ross Veal. The congregation were reminded that next Sunday would be a family Christmas service with no Sunday School and a special Christmas Eve Service would be held at 7:30 p.m. Christmas Eve at which time communion would also be served. The flowers at the front of the church were placed in honour of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. James Nixon which Wok place in the an old time Christmas Party at the church on Friday part -of the program, Mr. and Mrs, Bert Horton and Mr$. Rannie conducted progressive euchre. Carols were sung and Christmas in Holland, Scotland and England were described by Mrs. Rita Van Wieren, Mrs. Winnie Skea, and Mrs, Hilda. Payne. A humorous skit was read by Mrs. Joyce Pepper and Mrs, Hilda Payne and Mrs. Pepper played a medley of Christmas tunes on the piano and also accom- panied for the carol singing. It was decided to send for 25 London Area song books and Mrs, Pearl Koehler and Mrs. Leona Parke were ap- pointed visiting committee until our January meeting. A donation to the .church was also voted on, Bursary money of 75' per member will also be collected in January. One assistant 4-H leader is needed, Please con- tact 262-5018 if willing to help. This will be a sewing project. After closing the meeting, hostesses Mrs. Eileen Ran- nie and Mrs. Winnie Skea served a deliciouS lunch. Next meeting will be on January 14, 1981. Personals Lovekesh Malik is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. We wish him a speedy recovery and home for Christmas.
